Lets see if India buy defensive equipments from China. If this kind of cooperation continues, then US should cancel all the defensive sales to India. They are all currently gov-gov as I know so it can be easily done. India is not demonstrating itself to be a reliable allies of democracy bloc of nations. It shows that US true friends are countries that are living under the pressure of communism and islamo fascism, such as Isreal, Poland and South Korea. Natural ressources are vital for progress of a nation , it why they are construting and investing in Gwadar port's,auto routes,railways...first all it's a short cut, and second they won't depend on americans, becauze american control completely all maritime routes...

I see your point but allow me to present the other side of the coin. Even if we buy the trainer from china, it is (as you already pointed out) "defensive" (if that) in nature. we are not buying offensive weapons from china. And to be quite honest the era of (purely)ideological alliances has passed long ago, today's alliances are primarily (not saying only) based on economic interests. If U.S. (erroneously) alienates India, it would actually strengthen Sino-Indian alliance, which would be counter-productive (from U.S. stand-point).
If anything, this sort of a deal (or rumors of it) may entice U.S. to offer something similar.

China was with Pak simply coz it wanted to have a check on India... now time has changed... It is extremely good for both the countries to join hands... it enhances mutual developments... If by going for L-15 makes you feel development is going on then you are highly mistaken. Already India and china are collaborating on lot of IT projects.

As far as why we shouldnt go for L-15 is simple there are much better trainers in the market then L-15.

india is merely moving away from the aggressive warlord faction in world politics. despite india's many problems this is a positive step forward.

china and russia only make friends with peaceful nations that understand how to use diplomacy to solve their problems.

Man, its good to be patriotic but dont be so myopic. Get away from such dreams that Pakistan is the most Important country in this world and please dont compare pakistan from US. You are saying that China depend on Pk? and it has to choose between Pak and US and it chose Pak? All said and done, Its pak which depend on China, not the other way around. If not for containing India, rest assured China would not have even noticed Pak as any country existant on earth.

Why should India buy L-15 ? We are already flying hawk's as AJT's. After stage-3 training on AJT's, pilots are sent to operational squadrons where they have twin seat trainers in most squadrons! LIFT's are needed only when there are no twin seater trainers available (example jf-17 till now has not seen a twin seater in service and thus only seasoned pilots fly them for now).
