I think it's necessary to open a new thread about new Light Tank.

It has 105mm gun around 30t (Type 62 only 21t). Easily be deployed by air transport, even possible 2 tanks or 1 tank+ 1 IFV in one C-17 size transporter. In west china, where road density is low, large areas are consisted with terrain that is unreachable for wheeled vehicles. And there are also mountain/water regions in west/south China where ZTZ-96A MBT is still too large/heavy.

Mr sorry but this is not even close to be a light tank it seems to be really heavy one and it looks like export version of MBT 2000 that is VT-1As

I know how MBT-2000 or VT-1A looks like ... Ths. That's new light tank field test in Tibet.

This tank is designed for mountain area, so its armor is quite weak. For soft soil，VT-2 should be better.

Light tank for mountain troops, China design it for PLA armored force in Tibet and to replace old type62 light tanks deployed at South of China. It will be useful to improve firepower of Pakistan mountain troops but the light tank not stronger than Main Battle Tank.
