The articles author Anjum Rasheed is exactly right when she suggests that China will not support that Pakistan government handle groups and organizations that have earned "terrorist" moniker
Look there are some related issues but lets try and untangle them :
1. The Abbotabad raid has proven Pakistan armed forces to be a bunch of key stone cops types, that is say, incompetent, poorly trained, poorly equipped and ultimately, poorly led -- and this has come as a shock to most Pakistanis -- but it's really even more dangerous, because it has brought into question the WILL and ABILITY of the armed forces to protect the nuclear arsenal - the perverted ideological bent of the armed forces and their incompetence has successfully allowed weapon systems conceived to protect Pakistan to become a albatross around the neck of Pakistan, so to speak.
2. That OBL was found to be living less than 100 km from Islamabad -- for the time being, lets grant, a "intelligence failure" -- I say for the time being because while I don't buy that no one knew, I am sure that the truth of the matter will be revealed -- now to make matters worse, the ISI chief has suggested that the US pulled a "sting operation" against the ISI, suggesting that the ISI are gullible - how many times to these guys have to be bent over, before they take offense is anybody's guess.
3. Pakistan will not be allowed by anybody, including China, to coddle and nurture and make nice with terrorists -- that's exactly why some governments and peoples have such a problem with Pakistan, they just can't figure out where Pakistan stand -- and while some immature Pakistanis may imagine that this is an achievement of some sort, what it really is, is confirmation that Pakistani policy is one of duplicity - if Pakistan policy is of duplicity, is it also of duplicity with China? After all, Islamist terrorists are China's enemy as well.
Pakistan must act against Islamist terrorists even as it works out it's relations with the US --- US or no US, the war imposed on Pakistan by Islamist terrorists is not going to go away unless, Pakistan kills off terrorists and more importantly kills off the ideology that feeds Islamist terrorism.
