China made F-7BGI is ready for export Bangladesh, paint job is done

F-7BGI是“临时性”解决方案,用来替换最老的飞机,一旦有了经费,将购买一种现代化歼击机。
Marshal Rahman claimed F7BGI is a temporarily solution for phasing out the oldest air frame in Bangladesh's F7. As long as new bugdet is funded, BAF will go for new 4gen fighter. JF17 is the best choice.

1.We need J-10 just now, and should look for J-20 next. No point in acquisitions that can't take on IAF.

2. Our main thrust is ground based air defense. There we are looking for the best from Russia and China. We propose to swarm our entire geographic extent in land and sea with anything that can fire on intruding aircraft / chopper. A chapter from Iran's Swarming Tactics in the sea.

thank goodness....sense has finally prevailed.

Would Bangladeshi officers teach PLA how to make a Mutiny?

1.We would be happy to teach Indian military officers to have some "ghairot" / self-respect and love of the nation instead of facing humiliation at the hands of the "Babus". The way Gen V K Singh was dressed down should have boiled blood if you have any in your veins. You just stand around, do the politicians and Babus bidding, and take your pay and go home to sleep sucking fingers while the Italian Sisters Three are and their cohort have pumped in more money into the Swiss banking system than it can hold.

2. Fyi, we never had any mutiny. There were take overs when that became necessary to save the nation. There was only one mutiny of kind in our border Police outfit organized and financed by RAW to avenge the lynching BSF had received at the hands of our unarmed villagers in Padua.

3. Come to BD or call us over. We will teach you to have some pride in yourself. Btw, Muslims all over the world view patriotism and the duties of a soldier differently. For instance, our soldiers are Soldiers of Islam - and you can't understand what that means / implies.

This defense purchase has corruption written all over it. 160 million on such garbage!.....tareq siddiqui should be probed!

At least pay due respect to your government decision. Anyway, J7 is not garbage.

Ghairat is not self respect. Its a fake sense of honour derived from a medieval barbarian culture. Its an abomination that leads to murder of own daughters. No civilized society should have it.We certainly don't want to learn it from you.We have it plenty of our own.And our military leadership are answerable to its civilian leadership and that's the way it should be.

We don't need your religiously motivated Fake Moral Superiority and pride which are nothing but superstitious.

Armstrong, whilst you are correct that given BAL or BNP in power Bangladesh takes a more pro or anti India stance, but there has never and can never be a anti-china stance. I for one would like BD to aquire the JF17 as it seems like a good platform. Obviously Pakistan would have a say on the matter, but once everything is considered it would I think be unlikely Pakistan would block such a sale. In any conflict between India Pakistan at worst Bangladesh will take neutral position. It does not matter who is on power beyond the rhetoric no one in Bangladesh consider India as a friend.

If that is the worst case scenario, what is the norm here? Will you take an anti-India position?

BTW congrats to BD on your swanky new Mig-21s.

If China makes some changes with air intakes, make more hardpoints and strengthen with some more composites and gives it a good radar , its a value for money jet.

Do not worry about a weak Bangladesh. However, in case of a war between Pakistan and India, a neutral BD may be alerted by the prospect of a war and may take its troops near the border. So, please tell me what an Indian general would do in reaction to that situation.

You say that as if it would be a potent pressure tactic. BD army has about 300,000 soldiers, 170 odd artillery guns, and you guys want plan to pressure india with this?? Add to this mix, BD's lack of serious air superiority fighters and your strategy looks increasingly flimsy.

The only way, BD can meaningfully exert pressure is if India's resources are stretched to the limit in a war with China, Pakistan and BD - ALL at the same time. But as history would suggest, close coordination between armed forces of 3 separate nations to achieve a common target has rarely been achieved.

Also for some perspective, BD's defence budget is USD 1.5 billion. India's defense budget is more than 36% of BD's GDP.

Try pressuring your southern neighbor to save muslims facing the wrath of monks. BD might have better odds there.

I'm not sure Pakistan would allow that considering that Bangladesh has a tendency of alternating between an India Friendly Regime & BNP. And considering that Pakistan has more than a say in this matter...our friends in China will honor that.

Does this mean that the even the Bangladeshis feel that the chinese copy of Mig21 is better than JF17??

No offense mate, F7 BGI is a good plane for our multi layered AD system. It might be old model , but it will do the job.

J7 is awesome, but it will mean more maintenance cost, induction means more years into training, besides we can take the stroll slowly.
Our pilots would get Yak 130 in a year or so, start training for 4th Gen., and insallah if the economy is good, we will go for j7 or better plane that China will have to offer us by then. Besides, BAF will need to raise more units for them, so it will take time. Currently BA and BN is in expansion mode. They are heavily recruiting.
Like I said before we are not in imminent threat from anyone. If situation arises so, we can do some off the self purchasing of military hardware anytime.
Cheers fellows and thanks to China.

well if bd had Marsian technology. I don't talk about question which comes with if. Peace

All generals plan by asking a small question, 'If.' Can you see even AL is buying Chinese arms. These assholes already know about India. About JF-17. We do not need it because we are only replacing our A-5 planes with new BGIs.

In a few years time we will phase out F-7MBs when BAF will purchase probably Russian planes. Russia is already supplying BAF with 16 units of YAK-130 training planes. BAF must train its pilots with this plane. YAK-130 plane is capable to train pilots in 4.5+ generation planes. How you guys expect BAF to buy 4 or 4.5 gen planes without giving sufficient time to train its pilots.

BAF will probably buy Mig-29SMT and Su-30MK2 planes from Russia under a $850 million loan. However, the way USA is approaching us with their co-defence block strategy, the govt may also opt for US planes. Training with Russian training planes is no impediment to fly US planes.
