China donates 1,000 firefighting motorcycles to Bangladesh

I am just curious how is this going to help a large fire. I am pretty sure, even these motor bikes will have trouble through Dhaka traffic.

Volunteer aid has nothing to with economic aid. What is the market value of 1000 firefighter bike?

You mentioned earlier if Bangladesh does something to Myanmar China will stop all aid to Bangladesh. Since when Bangladesh is reliance on Chinese aid? Not even on India as well. Giving loan or line of credit to promote Chinese product or companies is not considered economic aid.

Beyond Rohingya I can not recall any aid China has given to Bangladesh.

These type of comments are not helpful to maintain friendly environment here. I urge our Chinese friends not to be influenced by some of the Pakistani or Indian troll here. The bilateral relation and co-operation is very strong between China and Bangladesh and that spirit should be reflected here as well.

I don’t mind saying good stuff that China did in Bangladesh. I have come across another project that China funded in Bangladesh and that is Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Dhaka.

This is great as a sign of friendship China is building the exhibition center in Dhaka but I have not find articles that indicate Bangladesh is economically reliant on Chinese aid as the Pakistani troll was claiming.

The Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center will have about 800 booths of 9 square meters each in two big hall rooms. The center is being built by Chinese firms at a cost of about 13 billion taka (154.94 million U.S. dollars). Of the amount, China will provide 6.25 billion taka (74.49 million dollars) in grant while the rest will come from the Bangladeshi government. The center recently passed check and acceptance of experts in advance.

I wonder why people are making a fuss on the Chinese donations of firefighting motorcycles? 1000 units are quite a large figure and these will be used in places where the roads are narrow and congested like in old Dhaka. These motorcycles will be very useful, these can rush towards the fire with the four-wheeled vehicles to do the follow-up works. Motorcycles will stop the fire from enlarging by spraying water or foam early.

We should either reject it or should express thanks to China like a civilized nation. But, accepting the donation in one hand and showing pride by telling we are not a poor country, on the other, is an uncivilized gesture. A proud nation is supposed to manufacture these instead of importing or accepting as donations. We are unable to produce but are showing pride. Pending our inability to do so we must show our gratitude.

Did anyone you find not shows gratitude? Point is the Pakistani troll brought up Bangladesh is reliant on Chinese economic aid and if Bangladesh try to do anything with Myanmar, China will stop all aid. Do you have any information or stat Bangladesh is reliant on Chinese economic aid. If so feel free to share this.

If I have any issues with Chinese donation of 1000 firefighting motorcycle I would not post the news at the first place.

Another thing before you talk about manufacturing firefighting motorbike in Bangladesh, how big is the market do you think?

On topic, I have seen number of designs of firefighting motorcycles in Alibaba. Does anyone has idea which one China will provide?

But there is one country in the world which is widely known as 'International begging bowl' , only one and unique. Whose PM literally run one country after another to collect some alms.
