China Actually Admits To This Theft

Western nations can't legally do anything to China company copy the car model to sale it to their population. Western nations have no jurisdiction over China to enforce their own copyright law within China territory. They sale the copy model to their own people not outside of their country.
This doesn't mean there won't be political consequences. Retaliation will always be somehow. Everybody will pay the price in this international market! If China cheats with its economy, it will loose friends and at the end it will be more expensive. That is of course from cost-benefit standpoint. From a moral standpoint I can't even begin how immorally it is to steal.

We are waiting for these so called political consequences. Have been hearing China copy this or that for many years now, so what's taking these consequences so long?

You want to get sue try to sale this copy product in the US, this company will pay the punitive damages of copyright can be upward to 100 of millions. Sale this copy product to Chinese in China is ok, don't try to sale this outside of China.

The point is these cars are only for domestic market so how would China suffer consequences? The dumb Turk thinks China will get punished for it.

I won't blame Chinese car manufacture to copy the appearance of the Ford model to sale to Chinese for 1/10 of the price. Chinese car manufacture see the demand within Chinese population but can't afford the real Ford model, they come up with a better business sense for cheaper price to drive a similar looking car.

Chinese automaker blatantly copies Ford F-150

Ford’s been showing off its latest wares at the Beijing Auto Show this week, including an all-new Escort compact, as it touts its recent success in the world’s largest automobile market. Its sales there were up an astonishing 49 percent in 2013, and have risen another 45 percent so far this year.

But while it can’t seem to make enough cars and crossovers to meet demand, Ford doesn’t even try to sell its F-150 pickup in China, despite the fact that unofficial gray market importers sell some versions of the popular truck for upwards of $160,000.

Apparently sensing an opportunity in the market, a Chinese brand has stepped in to satisfy the demand for “Built Ford Tough” style at a tenth of the price, just $16,000, according to Car News China.

The Jiangsu Kawei K1, also on display at the auto show, features an admitted cribbing of the F-150’s design, including its distinctive headlight shape, wheel arches, bumper insert and tailgate, plus fender vents that are clearly inspired by the ones on the Raptor. Inside, it’s a slightly more original, but still manages to steal some of the flavor of the F-150’s cabin.

The situation is very different under the skin, however. The K1 is only available in two-wheel-drive and is powered by either a 140 hp gasoline or 105 hp diesel engine, both designed by Mitsubishi and mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The K1s top speed is just 80 mph.

Over the past decade Chinese automakers have copied the designs of a wide array of vehicles from foreign brands, ranging from the tiny Smart Fortwo to the Hummer H1. Some more successful than others.

This isn’t even the first time an attempt has been made to hijack the F-150. At the 2012 Beijing show, JAC Motors unveiled the F-150-esque 4R3, which has yet to go into production. Instead, the company sells a near carbon copy of the Chevrolet Colorado.

As for the K1, a Ford spokesman tells FoxNews.com “we are aware of the Jiangsu Kawei pickup. The F-150’s iconic and famous Built Ford Tough design is an established and important element of Ford’s F-Series, America’s best-selling trucks for 37 years and best-selling vehicles for 32 years. Ford’s legal counsel is investigating how best to address the matter.”

As usual.....Never a creator, always a copier. Sixteen thousand for a pickup ? That thing HAS TO BE a cheap piece of crap. I wouldn't let my enemy ride in one.

Isn't China all about 'Copy & Paste'!!!!

Hence, No whatsoever, invention of their own!!!!

In March 2014, $12.2b USD of FDI to China.

It started in 2009, but Mexico is actually replacing China as a manufacturing partner for the USA. That doesn't mean that there won't be any investments in China, but it will be significantly less. Mexico and South East Asian countries are the new destinations for the USA investments. Actually I can see this change myself, for example I'm seeing less and less "Made in China" compared to say, 6 months ago, when I visit my local branches of "Academy", "Kroger", etc...

"Moral standpoint", from the group of goons and terrorists who STOLE Chinese technology for centuries and didn't pay a single fucking cent for it? And then went around the world using that same technology butchering hundreds of millions and adding whole continents to their racial lebensraum?

**** them.

Yes, but this will be the last punishment you will have.

Laugh out loud. They will get incinerated - at least this will help them with the weight loss they've been wanting to achieve.

It's not ONE company...

It's PLENTY of chinese car companies that copy American, European and Japanese cars.

Mercedes top, Geely and BYD bottom (two chinese companies copy Mercedes)
Plenty more here China knockoff Copy Cars

But you don'tjust copy the cars, you even copy the logos:

etc
Geely did well, the automobile manufacturer should serve for many normal ppl and provide a cheaper price for everyone. Some luxury car not only for the rich, it should can be afforded by most ppl. That's why now in China many family can drive their own privaty cars, and China still has a high growth rate of private car.

A 4,000$ ~ 16,000 $ car is not expensive for each Chinese family. There'r millions of Chinese can come true their car dreams by purchasing 'Made in China' cars.

Ur guys can complain of illegal copy, but now Chinese daily life were running above 4x vehicle wheels.:coffee: BTW the wolf said to punish China, LOL ... i think China can have a talk with those west nations about the problem of rare earths export.

"Made in China" is AWESOME ! Not the luxury, we can beat u on the price.

This's a good-looking & cheaper sport car , if <15,000$ i will consider it ...
"Made in China " cheaper price = sport car body design + family economy car's engine power

Well, that is exactly why Americans and Europeans are taking their investments elsewhere.

Hardly, US future lies in China. China is now US automobile biggest market. China can dictate things she deemed.

CCP thugs are masters in lying and cheating. They even encourage this behaviour.

Good that my country is not into stealing, and too bad that some countries glorify stealing. :sarcastic:

A good-looking pickup truck, at least most Chinese can afford the cheaper price.

If there's a cheaper copy, who need expensive 'made in U.S' truck ? Make the Ford F-150 cheaper than KAWEI K1, then American can win China market.
Sure the US can make such a model...

The K1 is only available in two-wheel-drive and is powered by either a 140 hp gasoline or 105 hp diesel engine, both designed by Mitsubishi and mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The K1s top speed is just 80 mph.
But why ? What for ? With those specs ?

The K1 was built solely for one thing: To look like the Ford F150.

Appearance. Skin deep. Shallow imitation. Kinda like those replica Rolexes adverts I get in my email spam folder.

.
roflmoa even if it would be a copy, its sure has much better quality and is 10 times cheaper than the american original

everyone knows american cars suck

It's a car not a model.

Now China had exported our automobiles to West nations, it's no doubt American also will purchase "Made in China" cars like Honda/ Toyota/ Hynix/ KIA selling in North America market. China exported more "made in China" cars to many developing countries coz their prices. 2013 China automobile export reached 1million cars !
