China Actually Admits To This Theft

Good that my country is not into stealing, and too bad that some countries glorify stealing. :sarcastic:
You don't copy? yes western drug companies "frame" your indian company too many times.

It's not ONE company...

It's PLENTY of chinese car companies that copy American, European and Japanese cars.

Mercedes top, Geely and BYD bottom (two chinese companies copy Mercedes)

This is not copy of BMW, this is real BMW, but the Brand Logo was replaced by the ower of car, I don't know the reason of replacing logo, but I am sure that, this is real BMW with Geely logo(The picture seems had been photoshoped).

Porsche Cayenne S

BYD T6

Rolls Royce Phantom

Geely GE

Plenty more here China knockoff Copy Cars

But you don'tjust copy the cars, you even copy the logos:

etc
Yes, In China, there are many copies of other western brand, as a world factory, there are maybe more than other countries, but no copy exist in other country? some country don't have strong and big industry, so they don't have copy, but almost of all country experience that copying: America, German, Japan, Korean,

It started in 2009, but Mexico is actually replacing China as a manufacturing partner for the USA. That doesn't mean that there won't be any investments in China, but it will be significantly less. Mexico and South East Asian countries are the new destinations for the USA investments. Actually I can see this change myself, for example I'm seeing less and less "Made in China" compared to say, 6 months ago, when I visit my local branches of "Academy", "Kroger", etc...
China is moving towards mid-high end mfg. More low end is moving to SEA which is normal. I am still seeing many products made in China on electronics and higher priced items.
As for Mexico, I need proof of that.

Geely did well, the automobile manufacturer should serve for many normal ppl and provide a cheaper price for everyone. Some luxury car not only for the rich, it should can be afforded by most ppl. That's why now in China many family can drive their own privaty cars, and China still has a high growth rate of private car.

A 4,000$ ~ 16,000 $ car is not expensive for each Chinese family. There'r millions of Chinese can come true their car dreams by purchasing 'Made in China' cars.

Ur guys can complain of illegal copy, but now Chinese daily life were running above 4x vehicle wheels.:coffee: BTW the wolf said to punish China, LOL ... i think China can have a talk with those west nations about the problem of rare earths export.

"Made in China" is AWESOME ! Not the luxury, we can beat u on the price.

This's a good-looking & cheaper sport car , if <15,000$ i will consider it ...
"Made in China " cheaper price = sport car body design + family economy car's engine power

One thing I do not like about Chinese made cars are the lack of horsepower. Nowadays, it is common to see lower end cars with 170hp, but not common with China made cars. Why?

The reason why China automobile is cheaper, lower HP engine ==> cost down.

Not that easy, if Mexico can replace China, it did more than 50 years ago, some are naive, I don't think they know what's industry.
They don't not know why China can success, but India can't grasp the chance many times, 10 years ago, I worry over that India may replace China, but now, I don't think that, chance is always there, if you can't grasp it one by one, how can you hope it do well? China have huge market and strong manufacturing ability, biggest potential, boycott Made in China, or leave China can't destroy China, just can damage China a little, If other country can replace China easily, the greedy capitalist and western government would have done it early, No one can replace China, you can don't buy made in china, but can't prevent other from it, you can leave Chinese Market, but the market is there, someone rush to replace you, or more Chinese Company replace or push you out, that's the reality.

Why Google leave China? they are forced by American, also because of Baidu.

I know that, i wanted the poster to find sources that proof mfg companies are leaving china and moving to Mexico. He will not find anything credible. Nothing will derail China's goal to becoming a power house in economy, science, culture and military power as long as Chinese remain pragmatic and not listen to western propaganda.

top cars sold in China are all foreign. Ford Focus, some WV and some Buick. WV has the biggest market share.
Chinese auto industry is not really well, especially domestic manufacturers who have not tied up with a foreign brand.

top ten cars sold in the first 6 months of 2013 have no Chinese cars in it. Ofcourse they are all made in China but their local manufacturers are not successfull.

You talking about sedan? yes, China domestic brand just occupy about 30% share of the market, too bad, but in SUV market, Chinese brand occupy about 44% share, in top 10 favourite SUV, 4 of are Chinese local brands, in top 20, 9 of are Chinese brands, in MPV market, more than 80% market was occupied by China local brand, I have data from 2011 to now, as to commercial vehicle, like truck, bus, I don't have data, but, on the road, more than 90% are Chinese brands.
Below is the site that list the sales volume, if you know Chinese(Of course, you can say the data is fake):

SUV:

Yes, Chinese auto industry is not well, I agree, because the base industry is weak.

Foreign brand but Made in China, like Ford American only exported car engines to China then Chinese workers & engineers producing Ford cars in local car production lines. During this OEM style, Chinese got car R&D tech and produce skills from foreigners(U.S, German, Japan) or directly purchase West automobile maker like Geely purchased VOLVO,and we start to export our domestic cars to other nations.

Now the BMW and Mercedes-Benz sold in China market, also "Made in China" produced by local China automobile makers.

I'm talking overall. Not compartmentalized into sections or classes of cars.

Ironically, Geely went to the government first.

One of China’s most successful private car companies has warned that “tremendous cost pressure” is building on already flagging domestic auto brands,

Geely warns of growing international pressure on Chinese brands - FT.com

As for exporting cars elsewhere, sure, but that's a pipedream resting on hopes that Africa and Asia develop quite a bit more, so as mostly everyone can afford a car. This is not happening anytime soon.
As for the big markets, Europe, USA and ofcourse China, Chinese manufacturers are pretty much non existant in two and loosing market share at home.
Market size alone will assure foreign brands will keep producing in China through joint ventures but this ratio has to translate into earnings as well. ie you earn less money if someone brings you the knowhow and design and you just build it. Product has to be yours from the idea to realization for maximum profits.
I know, you'll say Chinese manufacturer's are coming to this stage, that this was necessary for their development....et cetera, but the way i see it, there's a question if any totally indigenous Chinese brands survive so long as to make it on their own.

Time is Chinese best friend, like Korean automobile beat Japan's. 2013 China automobile industry have reached the max export numbers 1million, at least China automobile makers r developing. America car ==> Japan car ==> Korea car ==> everything always changing.

Time is Chinese best friend, also for China automobile makers.

I appreciate your enthusiasm. :agree:

long term, Geely has best chances. They did everything right, bought a manufacturer with tech, don't interfere with day to day operations in Volvo and within a few years i would guess the fusion of the two companies would be noticeable in Geely cars, namely better safety and quality standards taken from Volvo..

Dongfeng with it's recently bought 13% stake in PSA group (Peugeot, Citroen) has potential as well. The rest need to stop slacking, or they will only become assemblers for foreign cars.

Have you read the report from the website you posted? don't just post it.

Ofcourse i read it, do you want it quoted in full so you point out what's factually incorrect in my statement?

How did you get these?

Link in the post you quoted. If you can't see it because of the wall, let me know i'll post it in full.
