If the US still exists as a country in 2025, they will try to do anything to maintain the numerical leverage over China on paper.

They will try to not decommission those 30+ years old navy ships.

But by 2025, the PLAN will definitely have more modern ships than the USN.

US can not prevent china developing its naval asset off course but I really can not see China overtaking US in the foreseable future. Please just google the number of overseas military base US has.

US remains a global power china a rising regional power. In time this may change....but wont happen for atleast several generation.

SSN-773 Cheyenne is the newest LA class SSN, and it was commissioned in 1996.

SSBN-743 Louisiana is the newest Ohio class SSBN, and it was commissioned in 1997.

Between FY 2019-FY2025, the US Navy will purchase 79 new warships. And another 55 between FY26-FY30.

And those "30 year old ships" are constantly being upgraded to the latest software, radars, EW, and weapons available. Those hulls might be old, but its suite of capabilities are the best on the planet. You clearly have your head buried in sand.

Chinese Navy will get destroyed by the Japanese Navy. Forget about taking on the US Navy or all of NATO. China has no allies to fight on its behalf and has to fight powerful rivals. China is isolated by US, Japan and India. Russia will never fight a war on China’s behalf. Deep down Russia knows Communist China poses a long term threat to Russian sovereignty. A war will also mean full economic and financial sanctions on China by the developed world (US, EU, Japan).
