i have a wild thought.

why not offer JF-17 to Russia to fulfill their required numbers by fast replacing old Migs and Sukhois. Russian economy is not in condition to support Russian airforce to fully replace old jets with new Su-35 or Mig-35 as they are expensive to maintain.
JF-17 will be economically viable to Russia as JF-17 already uses Russian engine and they just have to build or adjust their Radars and EWS for the size of JF-17.

They can use them in Black sea region and European theater.

hahaha... No, I mean that they need replacement of Mig-21 and old Sukhois and they have not that much economical power to replace them with expensive Su-35 and Mig-35.

I meant to say kakaji ki madad karni chahye, hamari bhi kamai hojayegy or un ka bhi defa sahy ho jayega..
This is strategic reallignment and correction of Pak policy after the foolishness of the late 40s and 50s. The Afghan peace process is dictating closer alliance as US presence in Afghanistan is causing worries to Russia, China and Pakistan alike. If something more concrete ala new engine from the Red Bear then so be it. @messiach has already pointed to it in one of her post.

Yes, strange for too many out there that too back to back two high level meetings with two different Military Arms from two different countries and that happened suddenly. I will keep two points into consideration or refer as one is IK & Putin Meeting (benefiting both countries in different quarters) & second is, 27th Feb (presented our resolve as well as capability).

Many possible reasons.

1. Imran Khan-Putin meeting but what that is about?
2. India-US relations increasing so maybe Russia is playing the Pakistan card.

I don't understand why 27th February will motivate them to visit.

3. Maybe they are looking for jet export options, maybe co operation. Russia is heavily trying to market and export the Mig 35 right now.
4. Maybe just another annual meeting to plan for more bilateral exercises, increase quotas for Pakistani personnel to undergo training in Russian military academies.
5. Maybe it is regarding the Afghanistan peace talks and Taliban.

On a side note, since many people here like to build mountains out of peanuts, in video you will see that Russian chief doesn't look happy, so as some over here always draw weird connections to behaviors (experts apparently) and make mountains out of it, I will leave this to their imagination too :)

As there is not much of inside story, available in public domain; everyone can try to make a guess by connecting past events.

  • Pakistan does need defence equipment &
  • Afghanistan theater is still hot.
  • So also, India going fully into US lap hence, Russia need more strategic friends.
  • Pakistan has good relations with Iran as well & US along with couple of sidekicks planning to attack or are trying to create reasons which is an ultimate threat to the region and every nation hence, talks/meetings.
  • We closing to JF-17 Block-III so could be the interest for any OEM.
  • After 27th Feb, the world has seen our capability as well as resolve so the same day also warranted an urgent acquisition of couple of more defence items.
  • On 27th Feb, Russian FM immediately visited Pakistan and had meetings with some boys in ISB.
  • We still operate some French platforms and also, we might be interested for some cooperation from West & Russia as well.
  • Air Defence Equipment and then we are also looking at some 4.5++ Gen fighter (may be).
  • And there could be nothing as assumed above but these meetings are supposed for normal level cooperation along with some sort of exercises and that's it.
  • These meetings are not in diplomatic posture but Defence/Military level.

the ary interview with Pm yesterday. He said that meeting with Putin and central Asian states in SCO, are looking to Pakistan as access to the world.

JF17 does not fit their doctrine and the reason why they build large aircraft is due to their size. JF17 fits small countries like ours because the territory is not the size of a continent.

Now u start puzzles :) enlighten us just today US treasury announce BLA terrorist organization(hope going to push PTM too in list ) i was going to write in details whats its implication but as usual some so called geniuses starts their ranting giving their useless opinions rather than facts based analyses
What is it that PK has, which everyone wants?:-)
