Please dont compare a BRTS(Bus Rapid Transit System) with a Metro system. Pakistan is using the moniker "Metro Bus" instead of the usual BRTS system that its called globally, it doesnt actually make the BRTS into a Metro, its more of a marketing thing, meant for gullible masses.

Secondly, the BRTS system in Lahore is not completely elevated, its runs on the ground as well as on flyovers.

Thirdly, it is the plan of your Government to run proper Metro systems as well when they tie up the funding - IIRC, Pakistan is currently trying to negotiate one with JICA.

Hopefully within the next 5 years Lahore will have a Metro system running as well along with the BRTS if things go according to plan.

Isn't this from Lahore? The Lahore metro bus system doesn't run entirely on dedicated flyovers. It's basically a hybrid BRTS.

I get it now. You've never been on such a metro rail system before, and hence wrongly attributed the road traffic noise to the Metro system. Let me tell you then that Metro rail systems are usually much quieter than Buses.

The only demerits over BRTS lie in initial construction costs. Otherwise, they're superior to BRTS in almost every other parameter.

Karachi seriously needs to be sanitized of criminal gangs before large scale infra projects can roll in. Too much of lawlessness has crept in there. Investors will not feel safe about their investments in such a scenario.

Feel bad on reading the security situation there these days. Karachiites definitely deserve better. I've a few Pakistani friends from Karachi. They are tensed out at least once in a month over their folks back home.

Well nowadays security situation is much better , the only problem is the corrupt PPP govt
