Chennai Floods: Did anyone even hear about it?

Thank God you are safe...........My HO too is in Chennai........and its has been raining in Chennai for past 3 weeks.............and TV Coverage begin from 2nd December......after outrage over social media

I landed in chennai on 1st mornin 8 am.... It started raining since then..... Had to catch a flight to HK on 1st night..... That is the time the airport got closed...... was a refugee for 2 days.... But fortunate to be on the best place you can be in.......

Though not able to talk to uncle even now but I called on one helpline number and got info that all cellular as well as landline services are stuck down in majority areas of Chennai. No electricity since day before yesterday evening too.

True. Mobiles have picked up now. And power is restored in areas where no water stagnation is present. I wasnt able to contact my family for 48 hours. It was damn too tough. I now know what it takes to be in a disaster zone or for relatives who do not know about their kins waiting for information

That was nonsense....... The national media used more than 90% of their airtime to cover chennai flood......There would be one or two channels who hasnt covered it, but this is absolute nonsense for me.....

No it didnt.
I remember perfectly. The national media came a day or two after the heavy rain. It required a lots of negative hastags in their facebook respective pages to even post their news in it.
When I zoomed to watch a news on NDTV, they were running a @ss Bollywood party on it when situation was alarming. Same for Times now. India Today was the first one which responded.

I resorted to local Sun Tv channels to see the updates on it. And even now MP's in Parliament are debating Intolerance.

congress is non existent in TN so the media controlled by it wont pay any attention. However situation is completely different on SM where FB and Twitter is used extensively to provide relief , help and hope.

wrong.it is getting coverage except a coteries of channels with specific agenda. hundred of vehicle with relief materials are being sent to Chennai every day from neighboring states. SM is giving wide coverage to the situation and also providing help.

not blaming but when chennai was under flood .. congress was forcing the Parliament to debate on non issue and its pet channels were multiplying the din created by congress.
