I would add that nuclear power that is not subject to seasonal variations in river flow and the need for water for crop irrigation would be a good choice to help reliable power production. Plus, the fuel is found inside Pakistan as well as the technological mastery over the front end of the fuel cycle.

Yes, that's what my folks in North Nazimabad told me about this past summer in Karachi. Karachi summers are made much worse by power outages.

Situation has improved. If you are paying your bills then you would get electricity. This is the situation right now in Karachi.

The good thing about these nuclear projects are that there is no political involvement in PAEC and every thing normally done by professionals. Therefore we see these project starting and finish on time.

Not necessarily. Some areas have villages and other shit holes connected to their grid and suffer from loadshedding due to electricity being stolen in those villages. On top of them, some K-Electric line men are complicit in that activity. K-electric needs to massively upgrade their infrastructure for loadshedding to end.

The CPEC we know today was initiated during Musharraf's govt. The Chinese weren't ready back then.

People don't realize that the fault for low electricity availability in the country is Zia and the subsequent Benazir Govt's fault.

Zia didn't initiate any power generation projects during his tenure. PPP aggravated the situation via the disastrous 1990s power policy - which led to the circular debt situation in the country.

Clearly you do. That's no reason to act uppity.

All power-plants have units that go through scheduled maintenance that last a month or two - this isn't exclusive to nuclear power-plants. Refueling and extended maintenance for nuclear power-plants typically lasts a month, according to the IAEA. Anything more means there is some other reason (like extended maintenance) or due to low demand in electricity during that time.
