Pakistan’s first man-made Island is to be built in Gwadar at a cost of over $10 Billion. The ‘Chaand Taara’ shaped islands representing Pakistan’s flags moon and star will form the cities of the Central Business District.

Located the Marine Drive and stretching towards Zero Point on the Coastal Highway, the Central Business District is to include a state of the art amusement park, Art & Culture Museum, Grand Theatre, Concert Hall, International Expo Centre, 5* Hotels & Resorts, Multiple Shopping Malls and Waterfront Walk and Shopping Promenade to name a few.

Truly unbelievable, cant wait for this mega project to get materialized !

Not to mention the amount of employment such mega projects generate and how beneficial these could be for local industry.

The negative thing is after not so successful palm jumaira in duabi (bcz of smelly stagnant water) we are launching another project which will destroy the sea life near it which will take decades to recover. But the positive thing is this project will create a buzz and will attract the investors.

. . . . . .
You build islands where real estate is at a premium.Where each square yard costs a vast amount of money , as in UAE and Qatar beachfront. That indicates a need for EXPENSIVE reclamation and island formation. In Baluchistan that is clearly not the case. You have millions of acres totally unoccupied and you would then spend billions creating artificial islands

Does Pakistan posses even a drop of common sense or is its desire to go bankrupt in the quickest possible time frame a Guinness record its aiming for.

As long as the taxpayer isn't funding this - i'm not fussed what a private company does with it's money.

I'm not against the project entirely, it's a good idea - there is plenty of desert yet the Gulf Arabs built Islands. It'll be deliberately expensive and exclusive and attract the sort of silly money it's intended for. Dubai kind of works on the same model.

I just don't want tax payers paying for a luxury item.

This 10 billion is not coming from the government. Which investor will come and build schools and hospitals?

well it matter less who is paying, thing is if we don't improve the lives of rest of the people than even a smart city wont work in Baluchistan, people need infrastructure , education and medical facilities to not move towards those terrorists organizations, and this kind of projects without the rest of Baluchistan to match the basic facilities will just work as a tool of propaganda for orgs like BLA and BRA .

Chand taara name seems less appealing.

It should be named

CRESCENT STAR BAY

Palm Jumeirah isn’t failed as well, as compared to Other small projects such as Palm Jebel ali and the world island. The have been abandoned, too costly, and the crisis of 2007-2010 shook the real estate of Dubai so most big projects were abandoned

Filthy Indians should mind their own business.

And to answer your point the government of Pakistan isn't paying for it. A private investor is doing it. You can shove your opinion where the sun don't shine.

Dubai has much unoccupied remote land, they tried to build many huge projects such as international city, academic city, silicon valley, but none of them attracted investors as much as in palm jumeirah
