A Pakistan Air Force drone crashed near Headpaka area of Mianwali district on Saturday. The drone had taken off from an airbase six kilometer away from the crash area, a source said.

Close examination of the wreckage reveals it as a Chinese-made Wing Loong, that reported byJoseph Dempsey.

The official account on the incident is that the drone was in the area to monitor the flood situation and the aircraft encountered an issue six kilometers away from the airbase.




«Authorities concerned stated that the aircraft took off from Mianwali base to monitor different areas regarding flood situation and encountered a technical snag. No injury or casualty was reported on the ground as the aircraft crashed in an unpopulated area. » – said source in Pakistan Air Force.

The Chengdu Pterodactyl I also known as Wing Loong is a Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), developed by the Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group in the People’s Republic of China.

China to open a drone factory in Saudi Arabia

WASHINGTON — China will construct a new facility to produce unmanned aerial vehicles in Saudi Arabia, following a recent visit from Saudi King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud Salman.

The King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia’s national center for all things science and tech, signed a partnership with China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp. on March 16, reported the South China Morning Post.

The new facility is part of a $65 billion deal signed between the Saudi monarch and Chinese President Xi Jinping during a meeting in Beijing to promote stronger ties between the two nations.

In addition to expanding the Saudi fleet, the new facility can operate as a hub for manufacturing and servicing for other CH-4 operators in the Middle East, including Egypt, Iraq and Jordan.

The CH-4 can carry AR-1 missiles, capable of hitting soldiers, tanks and small boats within 1.5 meters of the target. The Saudi facility will be CASC’s third CH-4 factory outside of China, with facilities in Pakistan and Myanmar.

In 2014, a deal fell through between the two nations when the kingdom sought China’s DF-21D “carrier killer” ballistic missile.

“The DF-21 deal was turned down as a result of strong opposition in the international community amid the Iran nuclear crisis in the region,” Macau-based military observer Antony Wong Dong told the South China Morning Post. “Beijing may want to use the CH-4 drone as a substitute project in a bid to please an old friend."

Saudis Use Chinese-made Cannons in Yemen

The PLZ-45 is the artillery workhorse of the Saudi Army, it can a range of nearly 40km and can fire American and Chinese made smart munitions guided by lasers and satellite navigation, as well as cluster munitions.

The PLZ-45 is a 33 ton artillery vehicle, with a 6.97 meter long cannon that fires guided and unguided 50kg 155mm shells up to 39 kilometers away (in contrast, the America M109A7 Paladin's shorter cannon has a 30km maximum range). First developed in the 1980s, the PLZ-45 did not see widespread Chinese service, though its bigger descendant, the 50km ranged PLZ-04, is in widespread PLA service. The PLZ-45 comes with an ammunition supply vehicle that carries 90 shells, as well as sophisticated counterbattery and fire control radars, in addition to forward observation scouts.

KUWAITI GUNS

While Kuwait has chosen to buy western equipment such as the American M1A1 Abrams tank, it has ordered 75 PLZ-45 SPHs from China. The original 1998 purchase of 27 was intended as a political favor for Beijing, but the Kuwaiti was satisfied enough to keep ordering more cannons.

Currently, over 200 PLZ-45 SPHs have been sold by China's NORINCO weapons manufacturer to Algeria, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Especially noteworthy is that while Saudi Arabia also possesses American made M109A5 and French AMX-GCT SPHs, they have chosen more capable Chinese made artillery to take the lead in Operation Decisive Storm, the Arab intervention into Yemen. However, we should not be too surprised at the use of Chinese land weapons; as the 2014 U.S. Defense Department's China Military Power Report noted that Chinese defense contractors like NORINCO are producing world class weapons systems not just in new areas like drones, but also in traditional technology like armored vehicles.

How you know its Chinese made. From picture nothing can be said with surety. Mianwali was previously used by USA guys to attack Afghani targets, if I am not wrong.

Previously one UCAV had crashed and then it was revealed that Chinese MALE UCAVs are being tested by Pakistan.

Mianwali was never used it was base in balochistn used by us for supplies. And from pictures if u don't belive it's Chinese then you got no proof of it being a US property
