The shear size of China will make it win any war that it will face you guys don't need any secret weapons.

It's Phoenix TV video clip but it's not a CCTV one.

杀手簡武器 should be translated as 'Instant-kill Weapons', but not as 'secret weapons'

General Young on TV show talks about China can win war in South China sea and East China sea, namely against U S and Japan, if they don't believe, they can give it a try.

CCTV is a State-run TV, people on CCTV talks more diplomatically, they don't use this kind hawkish and direct language.

Assassin's Mace
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Assassin's Mace
(Chinese: 杀手锏; pinyin: Shāshǒujiàn) is a Chinese term composed of the characters for "kill", "hand", and "mace".[1] This term has its roots in ancient Chinese folklore, which recounts how a hero wielding such a weapon managed to overcome a far more powerful adversary. "Shashou Jian" was a club with which the "assassin" incapacitated his enemy, suddenly and totally, instead of fighting him according to "the rules."

The novel Assassin's Mace by Author, Evan Pedone, discusses the use of the Assassin's Mace as a weapon which brings the world into World War 3, almost annihilating the United States dominance in the world.

The term as a figure of speech has been around for centuries and has been revived in contemporary Chinese pop culture, as a slang phrase that appears in articles about everything from soccer to romance.[2] In popular usage, the term is roughly equivalent to the English idioms "silver bullet" or "trump card", and means anything which ensures success.[3][4]

The Wunderwaffen never made it past the prototype stage, they were never inducted and never operational.

China's "Sha shou jian" on the other hand, such as the DF-21D and DF-26 carrier killer ballistic missiles and anti-Satellite missiles are operational and were inducted many years ago.

Well, based on Professor Yang's comments, he is not refered to DF-21/26 which are already known to the public for years.

As for what type of weapons he refer to, well, I have some friends work in NUDT (National University of Defence Technology), cannot give out classified information on the forum, but basically they do have new concept weapons you have not heard of before under R&D.

You know, the recent disclassified quantum radar and hard-killed anti-ballastic missile microwave weapon give you some tips of iceberg about the broad range/dimension of new concept weapons China developing now.

Personally I do believe that the less or minimum revelation approach is better, let the adversary win the PR games of showing off. Unless one has in mind for exporting those products, or exerting the intimidating gestures (applying some kinds of the historically famous gunboat diplomacy) is part of the business, same as all the Empires, past and present, have been doing... what it's for all the promo publication for those arsenals that one is actually able to disguise or even keep totally in dark (one already cannot hide all the existences of surface combat warships and jet fighters etc). Just show some tips of the iceberg as needed and let the opponent guest the rest at best.

I'm sure one or two other nations are working on new, unheard stuff too. It's just that ... they are not talking about it ;-)

Yeah, everyone can be sure of something... :-)

nonetheless let it be that... the unspoken parts remain untold!! :D

Btw I like the Chinese-style philosophy of going on low profile and less talks and more works :coffee:

No, all other countries beside China loves to brag whatever new weapon or even just concept to the whole world.

that's one way to make others spend more money :enjoy:

but china can talk about some weapon which their general saw in his dream, and paint it as carrier killer or something, which carrier it killed man?

USA MIRV hydrogen war head has never used in war. So by your theory, its ineffective?

'USA MIRV hydrogen war head' have been tested by not only USA but also independently by erstwhile USSR, now Russia and France. So the theory holds.

Any 'secret super weapon' that China or for that matter any country believes to possess is more likely to be fake or overstated by its developers simply because it pays to develop a super weapon, never mind if it actually works or not or if it is practical or not. Sometimes that 'secret super weapon' may prove to be a much bigger risk than no weapon.

Take that carrier killer for example. It is a ballistic missile with very accurate terminal phase guidance. If kept completely secret, it may amount to US military considering it as a nuclear missile if and when used for the first time as there is no way to tell if a ballistic missile was launched has nuclear warhead or non-nuclear warhead. Meaning while you fired it for area denial the other party thinks it is a nuclear strike and goes on for a full or limited nuclear retaliation. Congrats! you just started nuclear war with USA and you will certainly lose now.
