As for our subs, Vietnamese's version is much more advanced than the Chinese's Kilo or any sub-Kilo cloned version of yours. Google is your answer to the capabilities of the Vietnamese's Kilo so spare me the usual rherotic that you know our subs, planes, missiles etc. If Russia is going to export anything, it would make sense for them to sell us the more advanced version than yours since we're not a threat to them while you guys sit next door to them; like they sold you the Sunburn while we get the technical assistance to produce the Yakhont; both are anti-ship missiles but the Yakhont is a much more advanced.

It is ludicrous to think that you know the Kilo better than we do. We have 2 of the original Kilos, 10 of the improved Kilos (same as Vietnam) and we have the superior Type 039. We've studied the Kilo for over a decade and know every single one of its weaknesses. Vietnam doesn't even know how many screws there are in a Kilo. There is nothing Vietnam can do against China.

What's funny is you Viets think that your Kilos, which haven't even been delivered yet, are somehow going to change the game against China which had the same Kilos for 10 years and now doesn't even want them anymore. Your Kilos aren't even in the water yet.

Do you have any real battle experience to prove that they are advanced or just they are just like Kursk.Russia's weapon building skills are far worse than it used to be due to the old retiring aged and fast dwindling number of weapon building scientists,experienced technicians and specialized workers.and the country used to have factories in many soviet republics work together to build weapons and now it is becoming impossible.the overall weapon building ability slipped a lot.

If China go for 100 subs (most are obsolete) then Viet Nam will go for 10 . The U.S already has 26 subs in the Pacifics and they will keep most of your 100 subs occupied. Add that to the sub fleets of India & Japan and your sub fleets will be spread thin

An unexpected visit by a Chinese Submarine that went undetected in the middle of a Pacific Ocean Naval exercise and came extremely close to the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk, has American military chiefs looking for answers.

The sub was apparently able to slip past at least a dozen U.S. warships, two U.S. submarines and a vast array of advanced technology, which failed to detect it.

When the Navy deploys a battle fleet on exercises, they take the security of the aircraft carriers very seriously. At least a dozen warships are used to provide a physical guard, and using advanced technology they are able to detect and deter any potential intruders.

By the time the Chinese sub surfaced, the 160ft Song Class diesel-electric attack submarine sailed within viable range for launching torpedoes or missiles at the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk, a 1,000ft. super carrier with 4,500 military personnel on-board.

According to senior NATO officials, the incident caused a sense of sudden fear in the U.S. Navy, as officials realized the seriousness of the encounter. The U.S. apparently had no idea just how sophisticated China’s fast-growing submarine fleet had become, or that they even posed such a threat.

Analysts believe that China was sending a message to the United States and the West by demonstrating their rapidly growing military capability to threaten foreign powers that might try to interfere in their own “backyard.”

The U.S. Navy and Nato are now forced to re-think their strategy, and reconsider the level of threat posed from potentially hostile Chinese submarines.
