This practice was called "rolling coal" as a matter of social protest mostly in Appalachia and Texas, where the coal and oil industry is losing out to cleaner forms of energy. This practice has been specifically outlawed and now gets stiff penalties. It has almost died out.

For hybrid drivers, there is a solution:

Weird..never heard of this "rolling coal" thing. Certainly wouldn't go over very well with people in my state.

So it's people like you then? I go to my local store. I am in rush. I can't park the car because primay parking zone next (very rightly) to the entrance of the store is given to disabled. I can't park the car in the secondary parking area because it is given to parents with young kids (rightly)

haha! I thought that was only a US thing. There's 6 spots near the door for parents with little kids and probably double that for handicap at the wholesale club I shop at every week. In a few years when the electrics take over they may soon have to run shuttle buses for the regular parkers.

Okay guy's time to you show you our collection of cars - meaning me and my two brothers. I have third brother but he has been banished on account of buying a Jaguar which as we all know is Indian - his defence that it is a company car and that he had no choice is unacceptable. Buying 'Injun' is big 'no, no' with us. He has therefore been summarily sent off to 'Ganga' and will remain so until he remedies his inflicted injury on us.

Starting the ball rolling is my fav baby - getting touch old in tooth like me but but hey she is class act BMW353 Coupe with sumptious beige leather. This baby is cat that can roll and stay glued to the road like a rocket on rails around twisty lanes. And Billy Idol screaming away just adds to the the drama. Probably having a tasty young lady on your side just about beats the joy of driving this dream machine. I intended to replace this with BMW4 Coupe but because of the winter now I have deferred it till next year. When I get that baby I will post it here.

And brand new 2016 Mini Cooper in volcanic orange with every extra you could wish for including panoramic roof. Took delivery of this in July.

We all live across the country so it's not common for us to all get together. But this visit gave me a opportunity. It is rather strange three of us chose German, coupes, black except for the traitor 'Indian lovin' brother of ours who went for a Jag. Every family gets one oddball !

We planned to do a road run to France this year but we never got past schedules but next summer we are going to trying and invade France. Watch out @Vergennes

Yes, that is what we planned to do. Land at Calais, to Paris, head south through Dordogne, take in Millau Viaduct and then maybe go for French Riveria and take a dip in the Med. Next summer we go for it.

You are very smart.
That's something I would have never thought about,lol !
Some people are born 'bent'. I am one of them. I see everything as a problem that can be solved. Few weeks ago my friends car was wheel clamped outside my house. The clamper did it to force him to settle a debt - which he contested. He rang the police to tell them to force the clamper to remove his clamp as he was suffering loss because he could not go to work. The police refused and said it was a civil matter and as long as no crime was involved they were not going to waste their time. I then rang the clamper but he would not budge. I warned him this time his victim who are often weak or old will bite his '***.

So I rang a friend who came around with a angle grinder. He cut through the clamp in secs. Chucked the clamp into my garden. I sent a notice to the clamper telling him to remove his clamp as it was obstructing my garden path and that if he did not I would charge him. Two days later I sent him a text saying I saw some metal merchants driving off with his clamp.

He got his a*ss bit.
