To set the record straight, the issue was not the teacher wanting students to respect LGBTQ+, the issue was her telling Muslim students that they don’t belong in Canada. That is going over the edge with what is acceptable for a teacher to say to young kids.
The issue could have been resolved by contacting the parents. Instead she told the students that they don’t belong in Canada.
Also, a parent may want to know if the drag show would include some naked pervert gyrating his backside on student’s faces.
In today’s Toronto Star it is reported that the Toronto District School Board ended the policy of asking parental permission when a Drag Queen visits the school. They did this because a queer parent objected about needing parental permission for students to attend Drag Queen visits. So, the policy was changed because LGBTQ parents objected.

Toronto’s public school board is no longer seeking parental permission for students to attend drag queen storytime events after parents at an elementary school raised concerns that the consent form implied the Pride activity was different from other in-school performances and posed some sort of risk to kids.
The change of direction comes on the heels of escalating tensions over the celebration of Pride in schools, including York Catholic District School Board voting against a motion to fly the flag at headquarters and a call for a provincial anti-Pride walkout on June 1 when schools hoisted the rainbow flag.
Parents of students at Bruce Public School in Leslieville received an email last Friday and a paper form on Monday indicating that their approval was necessary for an upcoming “excursion”: an afternoon of storytelling in the school gym by Toronto drag queen Gila Munster, a Toronto District School Board-vetted performer who has appeared at other schools.
