Few comments under the article from Guardian.co.uk worth reading

What Pakistan should realise is that David Cameron is a plonker with no mandate, whose party only managed to get support from 23.5% of the voters at the last election.

Did Mr. Cameron not know about the situation in Pakistan, prior to the publication of the leaked documents: I find that hard to believe. Given the import of the statement its timing and context one can only conclude that Britain is now publicly siding with India in its quarrel with Pakistan. Quite a significant foreign policy decision.

Most Interesting one:::

Why do we give huge amounts of aid to such a wealthy country as India?

Over the past 10 years, even as India's economy has roared into overdrive, British development aid to the country has almost trebled, not only that, Britain has also give a huge pot of dosh to wealthy Singapore.

We are utter idiots. And now , very broke!

Cameron is well and truly cavilling, what will happen next?

well, I can differ here with valid arguments that indians members have been giving how India is not involved in pakistan....but am sure defending that stand for Pakistan when I claim that pakistan is involved in India and afghnaistan will be difficult for you, since too many holes in the bucket.

one thing you should acept is that Pakistan has failed continuously to keep its projects/secrets hidden.
Or RAW is impersonating as "We are ISI".......because its not rocket science but common sense which many members here lacks that no Spy agency will go and say we are ISI and we want you to do this thing for us......I am assuming you are grown up enough to understand these little things....

Whats the Big deal...

Previous British PM James Brown had said Pakistan was the epicenter of terrorism that too during his visit to Islamabad. .

Few days ago Ms Clinton had mentioned that someone in Pakistan Govt knows "where Bin Laden is".

Its for Pakistanis to rise , smell ,and suck in the this fact that their country is the hub of terrorism ,also their govt is hand in glove with terrorists that create mayhem in its neighboring states and else where in the world and the whole world is fully aware of fact today.

Most of the Pakistani's don't pay tax. So, the Pakistan government relies on western donations to run their military, their nuclear bomb manufacturing facilities and terrorist operations (Taliban).

Stop aiding Pakistan and the Afghanistan problem will simply disappear.

Thats not correct. Pakistan did all those even when the west wasn't aiding them.

cutting western dinations now will just cripple pakistani economy even more, and US will lose what little support it has. Taliban will have a whole new pool of unemployed Pakistanis to recruit from.

He is the PM after all and is representing his nation. whats his majority in the parliament is of no concern and irrelevant to the topic.

Given Mr Cameron's statement in Turkey about the conditions within Gaza, in addition to upsetting the Pakistan Government he has also placed himself in opposition to the Israeli government and its lobby of supporters in this country.

Turkey , Israel again ??? poor comparison. so whatever he says in future somebody will come up with a turkish response.. LOL

You didn't add "Terrorist will takeover nukes"......

Pakistanis need to pay attention to their economy, there are no two ways about it. We can chose to ignore it, but that won't change the fact that ultimately it'll play a decisive factor in shaping the future of Pakistan - both militarily and politically.

Any proof of GoP having "hand in glove with terrorists"? If not, I expect to take that part back and don't repeat such BS anymore.

Pak furious, but Cameron sticks to 'export of terror' comment

Notwithstanding angry reactions from Islamabad, British Premier David Cameron on Thursday refused to retract his remarks that Pakistan must stop the "export of terror", insisting that presence of terrorist outfits in that country was unacceptable.

Cameron's remarks that Pakistan must not be allowed to "look both ways" have fuelled a diplomatic row, with an angry Pakistan stating the remarks could damage the prospects for regional peace.

Cameron, currently on a visit to India, had delivered a tough message to Pakistan, asking it to stop promoting any "export of terror" to India or anywhere else, and had stated that the country should not be allowed to "look both ways".

A Pakistani official said in Islamabad last night that in combating terrorism, Pakistan had done more than any other nation.

However, an unperturbed Cameron today said the facts have to be stated as they were, and made it clear that he did not intend to retract his comments.

The Prime Minister reiterated that more needs to be done on the terror front in Pakistan.

"I think you should say what you think, and be frank and clear," Cameron told Sky news.

"It's not acceptable that there are still terrorist groups working in Pakistan. We need to work with the government there to shut them down. There is action being taken, but we need to see more," he said.

Cameron's repeated warning to Pakistan came after Islamabad had made its displeasure clear over the prime minister's remarks.

Foreign Office spokesperson Abdul Basit said last night that Pakistanis had rendered innumerable sacrifices in the fight against terror.

"We hope that our friends will be able to persuade India to view this issue objectively and the value of 'cooperation' in counter-terrorism," Basit said in a reaction to Cameron's remarks in India.

Pakistan's high commissioner to Britain, Wajid Shamsul Hasan, in a comment in the Guardian newspaper wrote that people in Pakistan were "really hurt" by Cameron's remarks and called on him to "make amends".

Think about it.. 10 years back, would a head of state make such a statement against Pakistan?? The process of states doing something generally begins with heads of state making public statements.. May be nothing will come out of it.. But then nothings been coming out of Pakistan's efforts in Kashmir since last 20 years.. Still Pakistan doesnt give up its efforts to pressurize India via the separatist movement in Kahsmir. Similarly India continues its efforts to pressurize Pakistan internationally.. As they say in North America .. Game on...

It would matter if anything substantial happens from this. From the looks of it, Cameron did this to please the indians. Is there going to be any action, or will this be forgotten in a few days (except by the indians - but that doesn't matter)?

"I think you should say what you think, and be frank and clear," Cameron told Sky news.

Mr. Cameron let time be the judge. Facts on the ground tell a different story, but alas, you can live in your limbo land. Clearly our sacrifices are meaningless, regardless we will continue, for our cause it just.

The day is not far when we will shine as a beacon to other muslim nations. Inshallah.

David Miliband attacks 'loudmouth' Cameron over Pakistan comments

David Cameron was today accused of being a "loudmouth" by David Miliband, the former foreign secretary and Labour leadership contender, over his claims that elements of the Pakistani state are responsible for exporting terrorism abroad.

The prime minister stood by his warning that Pakistan should not be allowed "to promote the export of terror" in the world, despite the anger his comments have provoked.

Cameron said he would always talk "frankly" to Britain's friends as he insisted he had caused no offence and had not blamed the Islamabad government for promoting terrorism.

Miliband rounded on Cameron's comments, claiming there was a "big difference between straight-talking and being a loudmouth".

Miliband said everyone had "two ears and one mouth" and it was important to use them "in that proportion" when it came to foreign policy.

While Pakistan must go "further and faster" in dealing with the terrorism that has been launched from its own midst, it was also important to recognise how much Pakistan itself has suffered from the terrorism that afflicts the whole of south Asia, said Miliband, who insisted that he was not seeking to score points as part of his leadership bid.

He told BBC Radio 4's World At One: "It is very, very important that the prime minister, who in three unscripted appearances at press conferences has gone off script ... understands that we have got two ears and one mouth and it is very important to use them in that proportion."

A furious diplomatic row erupted between London and Islamabad last night after Cameron's comments yesterday, when he warned that Pakistan could no longer "look both ways" by tolerating terrorism while demanding respect as a democracy.

Angry responses followed from Pakistani officials in the UK and the foreign ministry in Islamabad.

Pakistan took the rare step of issuing an official rebuttal. Abdul Basit, a spokesman for the Pakistani foreign ministry, told Radio 4's World at One: "There is no question of Pakistan looking the other way. I think the prime minister was referring to these reports, which are unverifiable and outdated. If we start drawing inferences from these self-serving reports, then obviously we are distracting ourselves."

Downing Street insisted the prime minister was not accusing Pakistan's government of sponsoring terrorism. But a few minutes after his speech, Cameron made clear that official agencies in Pakistan were responsible for harbouring terrorists.
