it seems that problem will be pilot mistake.

in past we have also lost new c-130 in ZIAULHAQ case and famous twin collision of c-130.

Newly-acquired IAF aircraft C-130J Super Hercules crashes near Gwalior
New Delhi: A newly-acquired aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed near Gwalior on Friday. The C-130 J Super Hercules aircraft was carrying an unknown number of people, officials said.

Rescue operations are underway. No casualties have been reported so far.

The Super Hercules was deployed by India to assist Malaysia in its search for the missing jet MH370. It was also used by the IAF in a major show of strength against China in Daulat Beg Oldie sector in Ladakh where the latter reportedly pitched up tents.

The first C-130J of IAF came 2 years ago, but however there can be no age limit for accidents. It certainly
didn't happen due to aging equipment or anything. Freak accidents can always happen.

A 2 year old 320 Million $ state of the art aircraft is considered New by any standard.

Looks bad. These are precious assets. As a consolation, it wasn't carrying a contingent of special forces when it happened.

How the FCUK do you crash a proven aircraft with 4 ENGINES in Peace time ? ......especially one that is designed to fly even with 1 Engine. ....... one that is designed to crash land and survive !!!!!!

Meh. Why are C-130Js operated by NATO countries (Norway & UK) crashing then?

(In UK, 2007 and Norway, 2012...now in India, 2014)

The Gwalior ATC reportedly said that the aircraft caught fire while airborne. An engine flameout, likely caused by birdhit, could be a plausible reason.

......of course ........ if its any consolation, any aircraft can crash.....BUT

For the C-130, the Royal Air Force (RAF) recorded an accident rate of about one aircraft loss per 250,000 flying hours over the last forty years, making it one of the safest aircraft they operate.

How many hours did our C-130 fly ? ~600 to 800 hours ? ......... this is unforgivable.
