So with the US pulling out of Afghanistan and potentially ending technical support for Afghan air assets. Could this mean PAC could step in as a contractor to pitch it's technicians and engineers to maintain their Mi17s, Mi24, C130s, C208s, Tucanos etc?

Pakistan also operates turboprop aircraft like Saab, C208, C130 and we also have russian helicopters in common.

Could be a great way to make a few hundred million dollars the U.S might give to Afghanis down the road.

@JamD @Bilal Khan (Quwa) and other more knowledgeable members. Thoughts??

Not gonna happen;
unless there is a drastic change of thinking and representation in Kabul.

Out strategic relations trump business deals.

Would be icing on the cake for Pakistan as not only will it get money out of the deal but also get influence in Afghanistan.

The Kabul regime would refuse. They much rather send their equipment to central Asian countries (which it looks like they probably will).

Probably to potentially re-established US logistical presence at Manas AFB and K2 AFB in Central Asia as well as probably Indian air bases in Central Asia.

The real business opportunity would be that if the current Kabul regime is replaced by the Taliban they will have to create a military from scratch. It is interesting that in one of the recent PMA passing out parades, a representative of the Taliban was sitting in the audience. He could have been there just to observe for the future or the process of training has already started. During Taliban’s previous regime, we trained their pilots.

Should the government fall to the Taliban, and they being to operate the Tucanos against groups like ISIS, they might get international logistics for maintenance and weapons. Unacknowledged of course, but when it’s enemy of my enemy, it’s more likely then not. Tucanos are after all a limited CT aircraft, but potent enough against an enemy without a viable air defense.

Who will still be paying Afghan GOVT and forces ? Why would they give aid for someone else

It will remain p78778 state

PAC should work on finishing on Project Azm before screwing around on these vanity projects.

People in this thread. The Kabul regime is loosing territory like crazy. Taliban are gaining territory very fast. So after this parsiban government goes I believe we should try and pitch our defence industry and other industries to Afghanistan and A.T because afterall we have massive people to people relationship we host millions of Afghan refugees.
