Burma Seeks Indian Army Help with Bridges

India needs a strong foothold in Burma, India should help them also increase trade and military contact

Hope India can help burma build better infrastucture. We nee better relations with burma.

So he's a muslim. So what?
Nothing whatsoever. Has no bearing on the merits or demerits of what he says.

One troubling post. :\

Nothing compared to some other contemptous religiously bigoted comments he has made. He gets a pass, although it is a needless religious insult and trolling. Some of us who repsond to his cr@p get infractions. Anyway comments like his, and the lack of such comments from Indians tells you something about the mindsets of the respective people, and the way they were brought up.

Before looking outside the GoI needs to make up the shortfall felt by the BRO- they are already are at full stretch in the North and any efforts to deploy them outside India without an increase in their capacity would mean resources would be taken away from their Indian activities which is a big NO for me.

hey bro he is a muslims read their previous posts.please ignore him he is doing Taqiyya.see their avatar and read their comment about buddhism .

So if am muslim then what bothers you........Do you see muslims as monsters???? or what??

lol.........i don't even know taqiyya

Well,I am not a complete muslim :D

Burma is the country which is recently responsible for Genocide of Muslims.

The killed muslims are indeed illegal immigrants but The limits of humanity should not be crossed on any ground.

India is a big religious diversity country & it must not help burma unless it gets a cleanchit from UN.

who cares what religion they belonged to. The were in where they had no business. THe burmese government is well within its rights as a sovereign nation protect its territorial integrity. It will be a direct violation on our non-interference guidelines, if we take it up with them. Its burma's intenal issue, and ONLY the burmese people have the right to make a call on it

a friendly burma will be essential in ensuring no strategic Chinese movement takes place through there, in case of a border standoff in the future, if you get troops inbound from both bangladesh, and china, then holding the chicken's neck is tactically nigh impossible. If , however, you DONT have chinese troops inbound through there, our counter offensive can cut a swathe through bangladesh, and get sufficient room to maneuvre.

It was only possible in WORLD WAR III :D

India need to help Burma to help herself. It is not just for political benefits alone. Apart from the need to reduce the Chinese influence in Myanmar for various political reasons, it is also economically beneficial for India. Economically it will mean development of North East.

These are couple of benefits I am listing here not to mention the natural gas available with Myanmar.

India is embarking on a major project to provide alternate route from Kolkata to Mizoram and beyond through Sittwe and Kaladan river - Kaladan Multinodal transit transport project. This reduces the distance between Kolkatta through Sittwe port and rail/road/water transportation from there onwards. This provides alternate route to North East.

The other one which India is planning is linking Assam to Thailand through Myanmar and subsequently Cambodia and Vietnam. This provides economic benefit for North East while it jives well with India's far east policy.

India to open super highway to Burma and Thailand - Telegraph

Lastly, Myanmar is needed to reel in some of the rebel groups of North East and usher in peace in North east.
