ISLAMABAD: The United Nations is all set to declare Maulana Masood Azhar a global terrorist today after a green signal by Pakistan and China. It also comes after the ‘1267 sanctions committee’ of the UN deleted Masood’s linkage with the Pulwama incident and the unrest in the Indian Occupied Kashmir as propagated by India.

Unspotted on Pakistani radar since 2002, Masood Azhar’s organization Jaish-e-Mohammad is already named in Schedule Four by the Government of Pakistan. Since 2008, Pakistan had been blocking the move through China to enlist Masood as a global terrorist. Termed as a ‘technical hold,’ this is was the last blockade on March 13 this year.

Pakistan’s primary objection to Masood’s listing was that he had no link to the Pulwama attack or the ongoing freedom movement in the Indian Occupied Kashmir, asserting that it is an indigenous freedom struggle resisting Indian occupation and that Pakistan would continue with its ‘moral, political and diplomatic’ support to the oppressed people of Kashmir. Kashmiri youth like Burhan Wani and Adil Daar resorted to the armed struggle when they were brutally tortured and humiliated by Indian security forces. Pakistan also offered complete investigation into the Pulwama incident and forwarded a questioner to New Delhi in response to the latter’s dossier. India has still not answered these questions, and resorted to a dangerous armed conflict on February 26 this year when it violated Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by dropping bombs in Jabaa, KP.

Masood Azhar’s listing as a global terrorist was a move sponsored jointly by the US, the UK and France. After Pakistan’s objection, the US took it to the UN Security Council. In view of China’s exercise of veto power, the US reverted to the 1267 committee – deleting Masood’s links to the Pulwama attack from its ban proposal. A ‘technical hold’ could last for six months, extendable to nine months. China has accused the US of scuttling the progress to resolve the issue by taking it to the UNSC and insisted that it should be resolved at the 1267 Committee. Slammed in 2008, 2016, 2017 and 2019, the ‘technical hold’ by China against Masood Azhar’s listing as a UN-designated terrorist is no more in place. The move could be source of happiness in India and Premier Modi could play it up but it is unlikely to help him get substantial votes as half of the Indian general elections are over.

On the other hand, Pakistan may feel relieved from constant international pressure to act against Masood Azhar. Secondly, Pakistan’s green signal to the UN sanctions regime may help improve its image as a state that has already taken action under its National Action Plan against the proscribed organization.

Why give India a victory without any reason and unilaterally?

Not India but this :
constant international pressure to act against Masood Azhar. Secondly, Pakistan’s green signal to the UN sanctions regime may help improve its image as a state that has already taken action under its National Action Plan against the proscribed organization.

Wrong decision by Govt if true. We shouldn't allow any of our citizen to be on UN list so US can blackmail us on FATF, if anyone is threat we should deal with it like we did with TTP.

. .
Pakistan allowed :omghaha::omghaha::omghaha:
As if it was in control of Pakistan.
What happen to all the narratives that Pakistan was giving in regard to MMA from last decade.
All of sudden all those narratives lost the gas ?

Ya as if some Alien came and reported Massod Azhar as terrorist to UN.
India has been trying this for a long time. This only happened because of our own reasons. If we were so compliant to Indian demands, there would have been no Pakistan at all..

.
No alien a cry baby on our East is no secret....

But the choice is ours ...we had ignored the cry baby for a long time hadn't we?

Lol yea, you chose to expose yourself to get FATF blacklisted. Nice cope lol

The truth is, under pressure china had to release their technical hold. As the only country left, you had no say in this matter

Yes, because we knew pakistan is supporting terrorism. We brought all the required evidences and world realized it

This only happened because of our own reasons.
Nopes all this is happening now because of big FATF danda thats hanging up in air to avoid getting into blacklist.

I dont think any indian would not want the existence of Pakistan.
The existence of Pakistan is superglue to keep entire India United.

Our Narrative is accepted. Thanks. Masood Azhar will still be in Pakistan's custody meaning safe and sound. His welfare projects are good for masses, to be continued.

It also comes after the ‘1267 sanctions committee’ of the UN deleted Masood’s linkage with the Pulwama incident and the unrest in the Indian Occupied Kashmir as propagated by India.

We are praying that you let him out in the open like that.

JeM publicly claimed responsibility of Pulwama and Masood Azhar released a video threatening incidents like Pulwama and Jihad.

How can the proposal delink Masood Azhar from Pulwama. Seems the article is misleading.

according to the decision, he had not been linked to pulwama attack, meaning he is not a terrorist.
only santions will be:
a) he can't keep weapons
b) his assets would be freezed

If there any welfare projects, that should be taken over by govt built committee, which should see all welfare projects run successfully, at the same time it should clean up and make all these activities come under the rules and regulations setup by the govt for such projects.

Once declared terrorist means it gives legitimacy to his hands involved in various terrorist activities be it in India or anywhere else. That could open up ways to trial outside Pakistan :)

Read carefully.

According to National Action Plan 2015, We are dealing with terrorism in phases. We launched Zarb-e-Azab to dismantle organized terrorist structures. Now we have Radd-ul-Fasad, dismantling the sleeper cells and other low profile structures. FATF has nothing to do with Terrorist Organizations rather with Terrorism Funding, which is being driven in Pakistan by India.

even if he stand alone 100m close to ur border, u can't touch him, nor kill him. U know who was in that brigade headquarters. and what happened to that ammunition depot and what happened to ur forward posts, when u tried it last time.
