Breaking : 4 More P8I 's

.
Point being that An-32 can be detected but Indian Navy has failed to do so thus far. Enjoy your day.

It has been detected as DM has mentioned in Parliament,of recording few pings.Though not yet confirmed as it will require specialized ship to recover its parts. As was done in case of last Dornier aircraft.

Ya?? How many such aircrafts were found which got vanished in mid air?? Even Bigger aircrafts such as Jumbo jets?? Even better developed countries than India with far better gadgets couldn't do.. So what's wrong?? you sound as if India failed in something which pakistan or china is doing day in and day out.. Your intentions are pretty clear mate.. Instead of disguising like a genuine poster why don't you just write one or two lines where you can puke all non sense about India and Fuk off..

.
These P-8s are trying to locate missing IAF An-32 for several days and can't find it in the ocean. The mighty navy can't find its own aircraft in their own sea so you might just chill and enjoy them showing off. They pretty good at it actually :pop:

Well they claim they can do everything. A Chinese sub actually lurked near an American aircraft carrier and they were surprised when it surfaced. Same as when Chinese subs docked in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, they found out we were in the IOR only after we arrived.

.
Congratulations!

India should take a leaf out of Japan's book and buy at least 100 of these so-called submarine hunters..

Now go back and leak some more pics ...

And your point is? Don't you have common sense.... how many countries searching for MH 370? Stop posting your nonsense ...

BTW how do you know it was not detected.I am not sure if India detected or not.But as you are aware,US and Japan has laid submarine cables in whole of S China Sea including near entrance/exit to Malacca St and Indonesian Straits. So there is no way a Chinese submarine can enter Indian Ocean without being detected.

Depending on threat level, this information can be shared with India. As you are also aware,USA has declared the same when its Defense Secretary visited India- Cooperating in ASW capabilities. There are reports already about Japan helping India in this field,as they have considerable expertise.Starting with laying of cables near Andaman and South of India.

With China In Mind, India’s $1 Billion Order For New Spy Planes: Report

India signed a contract on Wednesday to buy four maritime spy planes from Boeing Co for about $1 billion, defence and industry sources told news agency Reuters. India is aiming to bolster its navy as it tries to check China’s presence in the Indian Ocean.

Eight of these long-range P-8I aircraft have already been deployed to track submarine movements in the Indian Ocean and on Wednesday exercised an option for four more, two defence ministry officials and an industry source told Reuters.

“It’s a follow-on order, it was signed today,” a defence ministry official told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity as he is not authorised to make announcements on procurements.

A second defence official confirmed the value of the contract at about $1 billion and said the aircraft were expected to enter service over the next three years.

Amrita Dhindsa, a spokeswoman for Boeing defence, space, and security in India, said she was not in a position to say anything on the contract and referred all questions to the defence ministry. But she said the P81 was an aircraft used not only for long-range patrol, but was also equipped with Harpoon missiles for anti-submarine warfare.

India has been building up its naval surveillance capabilities since China’s navy expanded its reach and sent submarines, including one that’s nuclear-powered which docked in Sri Lanka.

The deal, signed during a visit by the US Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition Frank Kendall, marks a further tightening of India’s ties with the United States, which has emerged as a top arms supplier in recent years for India’s largely Soviet-equipped military.

A US embassy spokesman was not immediately available for comment.

Boeing last year completed the delivery of the last of the aircraft under the previous order worth $2.1 billion, an industry source said.

The Indian navy has deployed some of its P8-I aircraft to the Andaman and Nicobar islands near the Malacca Straits and two other routes into the Indian Ocean for military and commercial shipping.

we need 12 more.

Get 12 more P-8i's along with a dozen Russian bombers optimized for maritime strike role.
A further 12-18 will be ordered over the next 5 years (in batches).

What the IN now really needs to start looking at is the MQ-4C that is designed to operate alongside the P-8 and act as another sensor for the P-8. Without purchasing the Triton, the IN is needlessly under exploiting these highly sophisticated (and costly) assets.

Next it is S-70B's turn.
Let's hope so, these ASW helos are the need of the hour. The IN hasn't inducted a single new MRH ASW helo (I don't count the Ka-28s by the way) in my life and they are being forced to operate with 30-40+ year old Sea Kings that were out dated decades ago. To make matters worse the IN has so few of these aged relics that they have to share aviation assets between multiple ships and have (for the moment) abondoned the concept of integral ASW helos.

This really is a crisis but the Indian military is so used to them that it barely registers in the media and so-called leadership.

Where were these p8i air craft when china sent a submarine to Pakistan through Indian waters?
I have serious doubts about the effectiveness of this aircraft.
8 (at the time there were fewer) LRMPA are not enough to secure the vastness of the Indian coastline.

Thank you for validating my point. I know you inadvertently did so. Point being, it is extremely difficult to detect something in vast deep ocean. If it was a Pakistani submarine, I would say good luck to your P-8 and whatever! This incident has shown their real capability.
There is a difference between searching for the debris of a crashed airliner/transporter that could well have shattered into millions of peices (depending on the nature of the crash) spread over 100s of square KM and searching for a perfectly intact submarine with a variety of emissions as these machines are designed to do.

There is simply no comparison to be made and it would be foolish to measure the capabilities of the P-8 in such a way.

Yet again you are blinded by the love of IN. Noise is not the only means of sub detection. There is a reason submarine designers go in great lengths to conceal steel hulls that should not return echoes. As I understand, a sunk crashed plane will return echo because of open metal. That's how they find old sunken ships, don't they? Or you think Titanic was still running her engines when they found'em?

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
Detecting submarines and debries from a crash are entirely different things
the search for mh 370 went on for many year's, the US,aussies and your best friend China could not find it even though the aircraft was much bigger than a an- 32.
Most of the debries floating on the ocean will be light non metallic debries which are hard to find using magnetic anomaly detecter which is employed for hunting submarines in p8i

Ever heard of magnetic anomaly detector(MAD)??
