People are misunderstanding the meaning of the title - what the author meant was "don't look at China through the Pakistan lens". That issue can be debated on its merits.

We all agree that Balochistan is central to Pakistan's geographical value to China. We also know that it is home to a growing separatist insurgency and, regardless of who's supporting the insurgents, both India and the West are happy to see it.

Which brings up the question of Pakistan government's handling of Balochistan. Unfortunately, we can see that it is a repeat of East Pakistan. Instead of genuinely responding to the people's concerns, the government is using brute force to suppress any dissent. That's because the feudal elite ruling Pakistan does not want to harm their fellow feudal lords in Balochistan, and they would rather lose Balochistan than break the feudal code.

However, if Pakistan loses Balochistan, it will also lose China's alliance. At some point, the army has to realize what is going on and make a decision: will they finally rid the country of these feudals once and for all, or will they allow Pakistan to be broken once again.

Pretty ironic considering army itself cultivates from feudal influences. the problem of feudalism and its eradication is not the job of army because army does not own this nation though apparently its the case and this is where the most problem lies. i think what pakistan realized 60 yrs ago, india is just realizing how important is to work for building chinese relationship, so in terms of policy making, pakistani are 60 yrs ahead of india's and now they are talking abt breaking friendship which has gone through 60 yrs of development and is rock hard, thus the burning hearts of 1 billion indians

even the current situation of idiots becoming the presidents, still our relationship with certain countries like turkey, middle east and china is ever lasting, and india cant find one country which it can have sincere relation ship with in all these yrs...

Well he did not used the right word, we cannot break the relationship, but we can make sure that relationship does not hurt us. That is all we need, if they can remain neutral in Kashmir issue, who care what they do with Pakistan.

My guess is China will have the balance, it will not title completely in favor of Pakistan or India.

A better Sino-Indo relationship should never come at the cost of Sino-Pak relationship.

Both Pakistan and China need each other. China is doing an excellent job in looking after its own national and strategic interests. No one will listen to indians bark. Everyone in Pakistan is PRO-CHINA even Islamist political parties, such as Jamat-e-Islami, are PRO-CHINA.
