BrahMos From On High

. .
We're not about developing specifically offensive capability ... if our people are going to have to defend themselves, we want them to have the best."

Metal Storm's weapons are still in the development and testing stage and none are yet on the market
Lethal weapon - BusinessNews - www.theage.com.au

the developer says 16000 rounds/sec which is around 960000/min.
But as the numbers speak,MS dont have the provision for magazines. It carries rounds in its barrel. He also says that a total of 1920 rounds can be carried at max.

And also they are comparing it for artillery use(replacement of mortars) but not anti-missile :P

Yeh true.only aus and US can use an ballistic shell to take down brahmos :rofl::rofl: and said by Death.By.Chocolate :hitwall:

.
So is the reason why the skin of Brahmos was built with special titanium composites to keep the temperatures down

If you want to be taken seriously you shouldn't lead with a statement like "special titanium composites to keep the temperatures down". Titanium or Titanium alloy is used because other metals such as aluminum is not strong enough to endure sustained supersonic flight at Mach 3.

A particularly difficult issue with flight at over Mach 3 is the high temperatures generated. As an aircraft moves through the air at supersonic speed, the air in front of the aircraft is compressed into a supersonic shock wave, and the energy generated by this heats the airframe. To address this problem, high-temperature materials were needed, and the airframe of the SR-71 was substantially made of titanium

I still wonder why you'd even suggest a material such as titanium often used in tube and shell heat exchanger will keep "temperatures down"? You do know a heat exchanger is a device built for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another.

Tube and shell heat exchangers are a common use of CP titanium and such a heat exchanger was already shown in Fig. 4.7. This type of heat exchanger consists of a large number of individual welded tubes.

Brahmos seeker has the capability to distinguish the actual target among a cluster of fake/dummies. SO this so called using of a SHIP sized decoy is a waste of money and effort.

Care to elaborate how the Brahmos is able to discriminate and avoid seduction by LRCR? Modern LRCR decoys dispense chaff and heat to lure missiles like the Brahmos and you claim this is useless - please explain to everyone here why?

And Brahmos is immune to ECM

er.. I'm almost tempted to dismiss you as a petulant BR child.
Please how is the Brahmos immune to ECM?

I said composites.I hope you have the basic understanding of chemistry to figure it out. Brahmos is meant to take out its targets by its high K.E rather than depending on warhead explosion.

Again yet another ignorant post and you are comparing it to SR-7.
first of all,I didnt said titanium is used as a heat exchanger. But it was used for airframe. But another important thing is that not all brahmos varians are same.Decipher the essence.

And there is no relation between SR-71 and Brahmos.
but from the same SR-71
Titanium structures and airframe

Before the Blackbird, titanium was only used in high-temperature exhaust fairings and other small parts directly related to supporting, cooling, or shaping high-temperature areas on aircraft. Building the Blackbird's structure using 85% titanium and 15% composite materials was a first in the aircraft industry. The advances made by Lockheed in fabricating this material have been used in subsequent high-speed aircraft, including most modern fighters.

Unlike SR-71 which uses spacing between external skin pannels to allow the areal expansion of the material,Brahmos dont. Also composites used in brahmos airframe has very low coefficient of expansion. Minding you that Russia was the leader with usage of Titanium and its composites even before US got its hands on.go google Russian usage of titanium in mil systems from submarines to space crafts,.....
Brahmos as a whole is not just a tubed supersonic missile, but its a system that was upgraded extensively ,eliminating the drawbacks and low aspects of Yakhont.

Brahmos flight path is not stable in roll axis, but only in yaw and pitch axis.Which means the temperatures developed were evenly distributed accross the airframe.

I dont have to explain and propagandise the sh!t.Use the word Brahmos-block II while googling. The same upgrades have been performed on the naval version in discrimination of actual target ship among a group of ships.

er.. I'm almost tempted to dismiss you as a petulant BR child.
Please how is the Brahmos immune to ECM?

Again use the google(an american search gaint) to know. But considering that you may or may not have the time to know the actual strengths of Brahmos, here you go

Thus in case of a salvo launch a flock of BrahMos will be able to allocate and range targets by their importance and choose the attack implementation plan. The independent control system will take care of the Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) and Electronic Counter-Counter Measures (ECCM) data, and also the methods of evading the fire of the enemy's air defense systems. After destroying the main target in a CVBG or surface action group, the remaining missiles will destroy the other ships eliminating in the process the possibility of using two missiles on single target.

WHAT

and you said that you are going to use metal storm or CIWS against a low RCS supersonic brahmos?????? Good luck :woot:

.
jha-venile I mean juvenile retort, I dis your BrahMos you challenge the F22  I don't care if you hate on the F22 till the cows come home, why should I - I didn't design it

It's late, like I said before I will explain myself later.

LOL Actually you cannot believe that others can do that. You live on PR but basis is zero... empty!!. We really think that F-22 and J-10 are extremely over rated. What US can make being proved in recent exercises with India. Even Bison beats F-15. lol Now what will happen n front of MKI and PAK FA!!! :woot:

BTW strategypage is complete BS. American propaganda stories.

Hmm not sure what will happen infront of the Super Duper MKI but last i read it got hammered by the F15's and F16's ;). You need to realize that when you act all macho infront of the USAF, they let you win but they make sure that they spot your weakness. Once they know your weakness, who do you think will win the next time :P. If you seriousally think that F22 is overrated, than you need to get your head checked. Its the best fighter aircraft ever built; but my apologiez i forgot Indian pilots are martians who are capable of sustaining 20 G's, have built in avionics inside their heads and can guide missiles through the power of their brains. Its good to be patriotic, but not good to be blind patriotic.

shhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Boy,you are not supossed to say that.US annually spends billions of dollars only of just R & d :D. and the products that roll out of US stable for sure have to be technologically superior that no other country on this planet can compete in the next 100 years :P

We indians dont even have the right to compare or talk regarding F-22 aka ubber PRised bird.Only an F-22 can drop of skin tiles.Or get stranged due to bad weather. And its di-electric skin gets soaked in rain. Can any other bird does this? NO.see how backward we are?
And we arent even that rich to catter just 35 man hours on maintainance of F-22 for just 1 hr of flight :P
think about it if we have to compete our MKI with F-22?
these days MKI flight range having been puller in excess of 8000 km.Thats an average 6hr flight.we are poor to go for such maintainance of 35 man hours w.r.t 6 hr flight :(( hence we can only cater few man hours only at times.

And we dont even have the luxury to use our radars in any exercise with US/European airforces.we have to depend on other sensors instead being scared of frisked by ELINT aircraft used by these host countries when called for exercises. But they often use their radars together with AWACS support against the participating Indian aircrafts, yet poor indians can only give a matching performance and may not exceed.

We cant even raise our voice in the public when US hawks investigate MKI hangers in the name of casual visit

We dont even know how to treat the guests welcomed for an exercise. We go by customs in offering the best to our guests when our own team sent abroad was isolated from our birds in the name of party/conference and then the birds were frisked by their own hawks.

By,in all we are developing at a really slow pace compared to US in achieving the above said.

I would say that, whenever our top of the line home made fighter looses its skin pannels or cant fly during bad weather- then only we are known to be competing US. till then Indian stuff sucks

Rhetoric, but amusing nonetheless.

Last time i checked, no one uses sukhoi for target practice of UCAV's in research.

I failed to see hammering of super duper F-16 when MKI breached International border and came back unharmed. And that too two times at different location.

What DBC point was that since Brahmos was not used in real scenario, it was overrated. And Indians replied that going by that logic since F-22 has never engaged in air combat( not as a bomber), it should also be overrated.

F-22 is indeed best air dominance fighter in the world but we were just showing hypocrisy in DBC statement.

However, DBC sought to neutralize a mach 2.8 missile with stinger   . I mean there should be a upper limit to imagination.

Rest is all pointless rant and you want to add fuel to flame.

Mate, no need to go for country bashing. Please keep discussion to brahmos. Thanks

I don't know why BR label is always stick on any Indian discussing defense. Do you even know that ordinary Indians can not join BR ?

Why not, I'm not even Indian but I have an account there? (though I don't post)

What's so funny? :what: You and your brother Mauryan seem to go into a laughing frenzy instead of taking the time to prove or debunk an argument.

Why do you feel that an approaching Brahmos cannot be "neutralized" by a volley of heat seeking missiles?

I'm done wasting my time with Mauryan who seems to think the Brahmos has a low RCS simply because it is small OR the skin of the Brahmos has magical properties and hence low IR signature.

I am yet to see any evidence to support the theory that one or two Brahmos is sufficient to take out a destroyer.

Where ever US wins is actual but where ever India wins is make-up!!! In exercises with Singapore (SINDEX) we have seen how MKI completely outmatched F-16 block 50. lol next time take a proper view.

If you seriousally think that F22 is overrated, than you need to get your head checked.

lol

No need to check your head because it is completely out of treatment!! You can never touch F-22 but we already got Raptorski, ie Raptor killer. F-22 was highly over rated just like other American fighters. In real exercises they were completely out matched by other fighters.

No, educate yourself, PAK FA is the best fighter ever built. And it will join IAF from 2015/16 onwards. Its the fact.
