It make sense if original brahmos(Yakhnoot) range is 1500km and Brahmos is restricted to 300km but the Yakhnoot also have the same range 300km.

Well Yakhont was developed decades back. Propellant technology has improved.

And BrahMos's unofficial range is put to around 500kms. There was hint of it when the newspapers released that Block II would have a range of 300-500kms.

GPS/GLONASS is for accuracy, has got nothing to do with increase in range.

You hit the nail on the head! A change in flight profile due to better guidance systems, use of composites, aerodynamics and augmented ramjet propulsion system.

Ofcourse Russia is inducting it, but in numbers that are less than India's. This is because most of Russia's budget goes into upkeep of and replenishment of existing defence systems, while India has devoted much of the budget in building up it's systems so it can buy more...........
Also Russia being so large and a little isolated from it's primary adversaries, it gives much more importance to distance and power rather than speed..............Even during cold war Russians had the longest range missiles, cause of their lack of reach all over the world that USA had with their "Empire of Bases"

no sir all i can say is that in near future things when will start to come owt most of the ranges of indian missiles as told to the press in terms on Km's just might be of the other ratings = miles, knots ...ect

agni 5's sole purpose was to target places within 5000 km and successful test showed it can target anything that is in 5000 km range

TWO FACTS ^ :

1. Russia's adversaries are geographically far off.. A sub 500KM brahmos/yakhont doesn't play any significany role in their doctrine.

2. Russia had a LAW up until like a couple of year ago which prevented them from employing any foreign component forget about weapon systems. With it's repealing, Russia is now inducting brahmos and also purchasing mistral class ships from France as well ..

i know he was trolling but i wanted to inform him about the brahmos missile.

america once said to india if you can do rockets then you can do icbm's.
