Boko Haramis - Why Pakistanis are not up in arms against them

They post the news for big crimes by boko haramis, but they have not show a lot of op eds and ediotrials condemning their crimes.

May be I missed all that debate

So you have issues with the editors because they don't condemn crimes done by BH in their editorials! Legit concern I must say - since editors are dozen in numbers (ones who are really read and heard) they can be approached easily. BTW how about changing the title of the thread? It is misleading...

I agree - the lack of substantive discussions on the terror and mayhem perpetrated by groups like the Boko Haramis is an opportunity being missed, in terms of using such discussions as a segway into analyzing the pitfalls of religious extremism and regressive interpretations of Islam.

There were given sufficient coverage to this news in western countries or other part of the world but when we compare coverage given in Pakistan then it is justified to some extent; In Pakistan there are much more inhuman Bokos killing hundreds in suicide, bomb attacks so Kidnapping of 100 girls loses its importance in general public because we have far critical situation and matters to discuss rather than this Boko Haram.

btw, kidnapping of 100 girls was condemned generally.

In fact, Pentagon has war-gamed a scenario where 20, 000 US Marines are dropped into an anarchic, civil war engulfed Nigeria.

I remember watching a documentary on insurgency in Nigeria, where they told that Nigerian special forces were being trained by Pakistan Army into COIN tactics. This can also be confirmed by this news piece.

One reason could be the antiquity of the conflict in the middle east. The Palestine issue is etched into the collective consciousness of Pakistan, while these Boka Ch0da Haramis are newbies. If they're allowed to run riot for another decade or so, who knows, we might see a lot of Pakistanis having a strong opinion of some sort on them too.
