for the pro army-holiacs,

have you heard any thing anti punjabi taliban from ISPR?? no...why, because they are not sitting rite now on the convoy route of NATO. :)

lashkar e taiba, lashkare jhangvi, Hizb-ul Mujahideen,Jaish-e Mohammad ,Harakat ul-Ansar,Al Badr,313 brigade ,Harkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami , Harkat-ul Mujahideen ...these are all punjabi taliban....i wonder who needs alqaeda....

all these groups are related to both TTP and al qaeda. ever wondered why the ISI only slaughtered the TTP and spared punjabi taliban??

the pakhtun taliban and a couple thousand troops had to be sacrificed in order for Pakistan to achieve a breathing space.the breathing space which gave us a more secure nuclear arsenal, F 16s, J F 17 and AEWACs which were not possible in 2001. i wonder , if ISI played really good , or was it Allah's will.

Taliban (TTP) claim responsibility

The Pakistani Taliban said they carried out the car bombing, an AP report said.

Taliban spokesman Ahsanullah Ahsan said the target of the blast was an office of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Ahsan said the blast was revenge for the killing of a militant by security forces in Faisalabad last year.

Pakistan has been wracked by violence, mostly targeting security officials.

Some 4,000 people have been killed in bomb blasts, suicide and gun attacks blamed on Taliban and al Qaeda fighters since July 2007.

How is it So important?

And how is it not, a blast in the proximity of ISI offices with the TTP claiming the responsibility and yet the tactics used were new. No suicide bombers but instead, a car parked close to CNG station to make it worse. So it is very important.

Bombing kills 25 near intelligence office in eastern Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - A car bomb exploded near an office of Pakistan's main intelligence agency in the eastern city of Faisalabad on Tuesday, killing 25 people in the type of militant attack that is growing more common in Pakistan's populous heartland.

A spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack and said it was aimed at the intelligence office, the Associated Press reported.

Police said the bomb, which was detonated at a gas station, sparked additional explosions of natural gas cylinders that compounded the damage. The blast destroyed parts of several businesses, including an office of Pakistan's national airline, and wounded at least 100 people.

Sectarian violence is common in Faisalabad, Pakistan's third-largest city and a textile-producing hub, but Tuesday's blast was the first major militant attack there. Militants have often staged bombings in other large cities, including Lahore, about 80 miles to the east, and have regularly targeted Pakistan's security forces, who in recent years have carried out several counter-terror offensives against insurgent hideouts in the mountainous northwest.

Now, Pakistani authorities and analysts say, violent extremist organizations are spreading across Punjab province, of which Lahore is the capital.

Southern Punjab is home to militant groups that traditionally focused attacks on Indian targets but are now believed to be deepening ties to Taliban factions in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The bombing came nearly a week after the assassination of federal cabinet minister Shahbaz Bhatti, whose killing was claimed by a group calling itself the Punjabi Taliban.

Bhatti, a Christian, had spoken out against Pakistan's anti-blasphemy laws, which are most commonly enforced in Punjab province. The laws are fiercely defended by religious organizations, who contend that those who break the statutes - and their supporters - deserve death.

Well the reason should be obvious the so called Punjabi Taliban, that are killing Pakistanis but occasionally they also kill Indians .. that itself is reason enough for Pakistani establishment to protect them..hope, that somewhere in future the establishment will once again be able to control leashes of these groups and use them to achieve its strategic objectives in the region.

ISI building has survived the attack.
the attacker was not able to reach the building due to heavy security.

he has been caught injured from the crime scene. he belonged to kabir wala and on his information about 8 other terrorists have been caught.

this was apparently a revenge attack against ISI. if people remember sometime ago a Dr. Usman of taliban was killed in faisalabad and taliban vowed to take revenge. probably connected to that incident.

wife and children of the owner of CNG station also died in the blast.

To take revenge on ISI they blew up a CNG station which had only innocent people there. Typical TTP style.

Good to know that the guy and his handlers have been caught.

Hi,
Guys lets make things a little bit clear.

1. They Targetered ISI building and not the CNG station like in previous attacks where they mostly attack government or military and not civilians. Where ISI is stupid enough to had an CNG station right at the front corner of its building.

2. The blast occurs at the ISI building car went in, and that was the actual target however due to blast effect the nearby CNG station also got exploded .. kindly see the video below as you can clearly see the main fire coming from back of the CNG station from ISI building (that was the actual target)
