An explosion has taken place at a mosque in Balochistan's Chaman area, DawnNewsTV is reporting.

At least seven people, including the mosque's prayer leader (khateeb), have been injured as a result of the blast, which rocked the entire neighbourhood, police sources say. The mosque is located on Taj Road in Chaman, which lies near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital Chaman for medical treatment where a state of emergency has been imposed to treat the injured.

The blast — the nature of which has not been ascertained as yet — was so powerful that it was heard far and wide.

A video shared on Twitter appears to show the damage caused by the explosion in the mosque.

At least 10 injured including the Imam leading Maghreb prayers in a mosque in Chaman, #Balochistan. Initials details show that the explosives went off in the Mehrab of the mosque.

Police, Levies and Frontier Corps officials have cordoned off the site of the explosion. No group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.

Chaman is considered a sensitive town in Balochistan as it shares a border with Afghanistan's volatile Kandahar province.

That's really sad. Was a Eid-Milad-un-Nabi celebration going on in the masjid?

Afghans refugees, BLA, and other terrorists.

When will we learn?

We have the mullahs and molvis who refuse to call out the khawarji terrorism and instead like to protest and burn stuff because of their fathwa against a woman's lipstick colour... Instead of standing up against Terrorism.

Ulemas of almost every sect have branded the ttp as khawarijs, that has been a big factor in the curtailment of terrorism in the past 3 yrs otherwise this monster was getting outta hand.

Thanks for the post. However, I have yet to see a protest by these molvis/ulema against Terrorism to hit the streets. Where are those dharnas??

Extremist khawarji Terrorism is more of a threat to Islam than Westernised, Salman Rushdie, Zionists, ...

Of course i agree, extremist kharjis are the ultimate threat but u must not forget that these groups were created n controlled by CIA/RAW. There was no such problem here prior to 9/11. You must observe that the places targeted most were mosques and other public places not underground party dens or liqour factories.

Molvis act extreme from time to time but that extremism is another thing not related to terrorism. The terrorism we encountered was engineered insurgencies. Allah forbid if it really had been a religious problem as presented by ttp, Pakistan wouldnt've been able to defeat terrorism. U must look up the 'PAIGHAM E PAKISTAN', a collective fatwa by all religious school of thoughts in Pakistan against terrorism.

The extreme stances u refer to such as khadim rizvi types, all countries have them, they are called right wings parties who are extreme in their narratives yet that is political. The terrorism problem was geopolitical with foreign powers behind it. Concerning dharnas n protests, those are not needed as the state was already working tirelessly on the terrorism problem from the get go, the question we should be asking is, was there a protest by molvis against opps like zarb e azab?, no right?, every element of our country supported that.

Now dont get me wrong, im no fan of mullahs, many of them run factories of jahalat in many places yet there are many good ones too. The problem is that those mullahs who get to limelight in Pakistan are usually the hands of satan n that is not a religious problem but a collective problem of every sector of our society, the worst individuals find their way to the top in every dept including police, judiciary, politics, ministries etc.

Now concerning the Jahalat spread by molvis, that is our fault as a state as much as thiers. We made an Islamic Republic and then left religion in the hands of the private sector, what u see today is fruits of Islamic capatalism. We left madrassas, millions of them, unregulated without a state issued syllabus or funding which left them open to notorious influence and funding by rogue and compromised states like Saudia and Iran. To solve this problem we must own these madrassas again, regulate them, fund them, bring them under the national education system. Imran Khan is the first leader in our history that has taken concrete steps in this direction.

Isn’t that obvious..!

It is very difficult to call out the terrorists cause these people call themselves Muslim and can actually turn the tables on any mullah or molvi. So the moderate mullah who knows what is happening keeps quite.
The danger is very real.

No

I dont think the battery timed itself with the event

Though it is still unclear if it was a bomb in the cupboard or the battery of UPS
