Bismillah to be dropped from (Bangladesh) Constitution

You are a claiming to be self described expert about BD politics. Please explain in details how "gud" the AL base is ?

@ AL is a minority based political party and it has been proved in many general election for the last 37 years.

@ About the last general election(2008) it has come to power through intimadation with the help of army through blackmail.

@ AL has no base it has already lost the ground. AL does not believe on democracy. Even it does not believe on the own muslim brother. They always prefer to keep the minority people in administration specially in intelligence organisation, UNO/TNO, DCs etc during the election period. They always afraid of placing Army on election duty. They have already politicalised Police, Judiciary, civil adminstration etc. Now, they are planning that the next election to be held under their govt instead of Care Taker Govt.

. .
The basic concept of secularism is great, but the way Awami league and India uses it is to terrorise people. Secularism generally means world achievements and in the world today it normally refers to worldly goals. The problem with that is, I find it hard to believe who think there is no super power over them as they are likely to cheat and deceive because they have no one to answer to, much like India and Awami league. I personally believe India declared itself secular so they can occupy muslim dominated areas, which pretty much they have.

.
Bangladesh is a secular country so good step I guess but why do many Bangladeshi users on here dislike secularism?

Isn't it true muslims in general are against secularism? They think its anti-islam than pro equality. They believe it is some Indian conspiracy to make their country less islamic and rob their identity.

1) how does a minority based political party form a govt in ur country?? Oh..may be Indians enter ur country and vote for AL in ur country..

ur next two points contradict each other...
U claim that a minority based party came to power with the help of Army thru blackmail(by which i think u mean Army supports AL)...
and next u claim that AL is afraid of putting Army on election duty(Here u mean Army doesnt support AL)....

First decide ur self ..is Army against AL or not??

and coming to ur point where election should take place under care taker govt.-where in the hell in world does a care taker govt conducts election(unless the govt is dismissed)?

Hasina has nothing to gain from persuing this. Why is she doing this ?

^^^ hey EastWET you can stop cheerleading for AL right now. Now let me explain the ground reality in short terms (Alphabetically)
35% AL
35%BNP

The rest 30% votes either for the sake of voting or to out-throw the GOV(the most important bunch). Now if I say 11% belongs to the minority that makes 24% Muslim supporters for AL. Now whoever will win the election the other side will say there was corruption. But everyone forgets that during the last four elections none of the mentioned party came to power for the second time. Anyways no one from here will support this stupid decision. Emotion is a thing that can not be countered with logic and I'm talking 'bout Religion. She has to remember it's not her daddys country.

AL/BNP: However is the situation. They will have 50:50 ratio of supports forever. Definitely both of them have very good base. Secularism should not be a big issue here, as 88% people would not be suddenly forcefully converted into other religion.

But My worries, dropping Bismillah would be helpful gettin favor for the religious extremists.

For Indians, you will get nothing if we are secular or not. Being a secular Bengali doesn't guaranty of favoring India anyhow.

U r absolutely right.being Secular doesnt guarantee favouring india..but from my pov(as an indian)the alternative to AL is BNP which is pro destruction of india-which will not be accepted by any indian.and that is the only reason u see indians in here supporting AL...

Suranjit Sengupta is he a hindu?

anyway what a sorry state of affairs the bharat nawaz hasina is stooping too low.

eastwatch how do the elected reps take oath? and what is the oath taking procedure in courts ?

As far as I remember, the Chief Justice takes oath of the newly elected President, and the President then takes oath of the ministers. I do not think, a Holy Book is used in the oath-taking ceremony. Or, may be I have noticed it. Someone may correct me, if I am wrong.

Yes, Suranjit Sengupta is an AL Hindu. He is an upstart and very noisy. But, AL people are all like him. BNP also has a few Hindus, but they are not that noisy. But, BD Hindus have more quality in general comparing to the miser Hindus of india. Our Hindus do not even pretend to liker their Beniya-minded co-religionists in India.

What do you know about Indian Hindus? Have you worked with or known any one personally? Is Hindu bashing the best way to become popular here?

as i said everything is not perfect in india..but that should not prevent other countries to walk on the path of secularism.you should be happy being a role model for others to follow.

The word Bismillah is a part of our cultural identity. Each and every time we start eating we utter the words, 'In the name of Allah.' We start a day, a job and many other things by saying Bismillah. The Constitution is a sacred thing. It is important that we say Bismillah before reading or writing it.

About the so-called secularity, note that the USA says it is a secular country, but then each and every US dollar note has an inscription that says, 'In God We Trust.' When an US President or his Cabinet members take oath, they held the Holy Bible in their hands. So? With all these outward expressions of their Christian faith in State level, can we say that the USA is not a secular country? All other european countries are also same.

India is a different case. It has a nature-based religion with an idolatatory culture. If it omits Bhagwan from their Constitution, it is their issue. But, Bangladesh does not have to follow the Indian-style of secularism. We must include the word Bismillah in the beginning of our Constitution.

Americans express their religious faith in one way, we express in another. People will not accept the erasing this word. Ready-to-die people will go to fight AL hooligans with Kafan-clothes on their heads if AL pushes that hard. AL days will be prematuredely over if it really tries to eliminate the sacred word.

I believe AL knows the people's mind. But, it is show casing only to please its Hindu voters. The present noise will please its Hindu voters, many of whom have double crossed in the Mayor election last month. For example, in my town Faridpur the Hindus voted en mass for an independent muslim candidate instead of voting for a senior AL Hindu candidate.

How your Muslim supported Congress Party usually wins the general election?

Congress does not win only because of muslims. Muslims no more vote en mass in India. Like any other voter they vote for the party/candidate that they like. Although I will agree most of them don't vote BJP.

I am not talking just for the sake of India bashing. I personally know hundreds of our Bangali Hindus who have migrated to west Bengal. Ask any Calcutta Bengali, he would have no praise for these destitute people who struggle too hard in a virtual foreign society, but, do not receive respect from their Indian co-religionists. These two groups do not intermix the way we the Bangladeshi muslims can mix with our Hindus.

Do not say I have not met any Indians. This is why I know they are a self-centered bunch of egoists, who do not even care to know how other people think of them. I am talking of the educated Indians. Do you want to know what happened in Tokyo with Durga Puja about 10 years ago? Since our own minorities are less in numbers, instead of arranging a separate Puja, they used to go to the Indian Puja Mandap. But, they were systematically bullied, insulted and roughened each and every time.

So, some of their seniors came to us and pleaded with us to assist. All the Bangladeshi muslims and organizations came forward to answer the stupid Indian behavior. It was a national humiliation that could not be accepted by us. There could have been a riot between Indian Hindus and the joint Bangladeshi Muslim/Hindu. But, no one can do anything in Japan.

Now, with the help of BD Muslims, our Hindus are celebreting Pujas (Durga and Saraswati) every year. You will be surprised to see that most of the audience are muslims of BD, because it is our Puja.

The same thing I can see in this forum by the nature of most of the Indians. To tell you frankly, our temperament does not suit your kind of self-sentered profit motivated people. We like broad minded people, but I do not find many of them in this forum.

Just to win a debate you guys even distort historical facts. It means you guys do not respect history. So, it is not unusual that Hindus did not write chronological history during the Hindu era.

How rich a person is, how much property that person holds, how much educated a person is or how rich is his country are all meaningless unless he does not fight for the right things. Indians do not understand that paying respect is also a way to be respected. Indeed, some people seem to be very shallow minded.

Sorry, this thread is about the word 'Bismillah.'
