I dont understand what your religion evolved so far. When we made all human equal thousand years ago. You guys are still practicing these untouchablity. Even in subservient mind it will always work to look down on lower casts. Sacred animal gods will always remain.
Firstly, we're not practicing untouchability
(or any other thing that can be regarded as unjust to a person with common sense
) by law.....those who are practicing are doing something illegal and punishable by law.....
We being the largest Hindu nation of the world, have made our constitution secular, made all those medieval, unjust, illogical, cruel practices of Hinduism illegal and added, what we thought is sensible....i.e, we wanted to change the way we lived by changing our medieval mindset........that's called philosophical evolution/adaptation/progress with time......
BUT, as you know that Evolution
(physical
) takes time and it doesn't have equal effect on everyone
(otherwise all animals would have evolved to look and function the same
) but the general trend is towards betterment, more efficiency etc.....LIKEWISE, philosophical evolution also takes time and has different effect on different person, but the general trend is towards betterment, more logic and common sense.......
Therefore, even though majority of us condemn all those social evils and have devised ways(made laws) to stop them, still, some people remain, who are unable to understand or cope with the change
(those who are practicing those evils
) and like physical evolution punish those who are unable to cope with changing environment by eliminating them and allowing only the fittest and most efficient to survive, philosophical evolution punish those who are unable to or don't want to understand/cope with new and changing social circumstances
(on which new laws and regulations are formulated
) by putting them behind bars for not following/breaking those laws and allowing freedom to only those who understand and conform to the new and everchanging laws and regulations....like this the society progresses along with religious philosophies....
Now, regarding your religion, the main problem is, relying on the words of one man.....more precisely, on what his companions have noted.......
Therefore, not surprisingly, you see lot of contradictions in the teachings of Islam which might have resulted due to different persons
(his companions
) interpreting his words differently and/or by the mistakes the prophet made himself......but you accept all those contradictions and illogics as they are, saying that they are actually words of god revealed to you by your prophet.....and this acceptance of self-contradictory ideas is the root cause of all the problems in Islam.......you say your prophet has made all men equal but what about woman
?? why they were not given equal rights as men
?? are they not humans
??.....that's one hypocrisy I pointed out based on what you said, if you want to talk about more, I can provide more, just let me know.
If you diminish these practices what will left to separately identify this religion? Or you are proposing you are progressing towards atheism....
Hinduism is not just a set of practices, it has deep philosophical, spiritual, intellectual as well as physical aspects which has been recognized even by the Westerners.......whereas Islam is just a set of rules compiled in Quran, what else is there, nothing IMHO, no profound philosophical background, no logical/intellectual analysis, just the order to follow the rules strictly and believe in one God. Its almost like following a dictator......
