India brings 75% of world cricket revenues. If 'they' can eat dignity, decency and honor then maybe they should. Pretty much the problem with Pak as far as I can see. You move to UK to eat Caviar and Stuffed beef. But you lecture everyone else to eat hot air. India developed world cricket into a multi-billion dollar sport, gave innovations like IPL. What exactly has done for game governance.

Dont understand your or others glee in India losing this status. The one who moved the proposal itself is an Indian. Without Shashank Manohar any of this thing wouldnt have been possible at the first place.

Other countries chief can have no credit in this issue. Personally this is good for cricket as a whole. And at the same time, other countries are now indirectly paid by India.

I'm also in favor of some flexibility. I thought Srini had put the grip in a little extreme. More developed world audience and players are generally better for revenues in the long term. We should still get the lions share but keep the others a bit more happy.

India should simply stop participating in ICC tournaments. They can finance it on their own. Use bilateral series to bring the morons to the table. They cant have our money and their rules.

Are those revenues paid directly by the GOI/BCCI or are those revenues from advertising and television rights (paid by companies operating in India)?

If the revenues are from international ICC organized events (regardless of the origin of private companies paying for television rights and advertising) then the proposed ICC model is the correct one.

There is nothing stopping the BCCI (or other cricket boards) from generating more revenues through BCCI organized events such as the IPL (or PSL, BBL etc in the case of other boards) and keeping ALL of those revenues.

Those revenues come from all Indian team playing matches whether in India or outside due to sheer size of customer base. If BCCI doesn't field the team, all the sponsors will be on the head n neck of ICC. Rest you can make calculations.

Good riddance can save ICC from systematic corruption and fixing just like the IPL. Just look at the CSK rooster, IPL's most successful team who got banned

ICC only has control over World Cup events, they do no control individual players and their teams. They are usually under control of National Cricket Bodies of their countries.

I know that the Indian board is the main contribute to the ICC revenue but in long run no single board or even a small group should be allowed to control the body that is meant to control cricket WORLDWIDE!

I think what happened is excellent for cricket. Also i hope we can stop the stupid act of bringing just 8 or 10 teams in main event. The numbers should gradually increase as this is the only way to promote cricket. I mean, we all loved watching Afghanistan playing the last world cup. It will be sad that the teams like Afghanistan and Ireland are confined to just playing against each other. We need them in mega events to add that uncertainty factor and extra spice. That will improve there game as well and overall, CRICKET will be the winner.

The money involve for the players in IPL is anything between 2 Hundred Thousand Dollars to 1 Million+ dollars per player...So just think what Players association will do with ICC if it won't allow them to participate in IPL....

I think its high BCCI should pull out ICC Championship Trophy and all other ICC events except ICC ODI world Cup....Lets see how will ICC generate so much revenue then...
