today's india is in reality more powerful, if not equal to, than china, at least, militarily. economically india is weaker than china, everyone knows it but militarily india is stronger. i believe that if indian border guards open fire at chinese when they try to dismantle border posts, chinese won't retaliate. once indian border posts open fire, border problem will be solved and the indian people should encourage the border guards to open fire. once that is done, chinese will start respecting indian border posts.
Is this for real? Are you actually serious? Am I actually reading this right......
You have no dedicated attack helicopters in service, yea that one heli is not in service. We have Z-10 and 19 with them about 200 in total number and continue increasing.
Each military region have at least an army aviation regiment, and most have a brigade and more. There are talks of reducing the regions down to 5 from 7 and each to have 2 regiment of army aviation.
You have a order on going for light helicopters, we make Z-8s for fun, god knows how many of that light copter we have, in both attack and transport configurations.
In terms of uniforms, we have digital cameo with new cameo coming by 2017. In terms of body armor, we don't have it, except for all special forces, and a few battalions testing it for selection by the same time uniforms roll off. In terms of weapons, rifle sights are a common in China now, while not all have it, it's also not limited anymore.
Communication we have satellite phone, we also have Beidou, for navigation and other things.
In terms of army recon, we have hand launched drones, and vehicle launched drones to go with bigger air field launched drones.
For supply we have hundreds of Y-8 transport and infrastructure that would take you two decade to match in the region if we were to do nothing starting next year. Also did I mention helicopters.
For guns, we are a bit ahead with modern machine guns, anti material sniper rifle, scopes, dedicated grenade launcher, OICW making appearances in the marine corp in limited numbers, the 097 is up for sale in Canada that speaks to a level of confidence in our gun, and the type 03 is also a good weapon. Now this sector India is doing pretty good, I mean at this point in time, can't really fall behind too much, as long as you are a competent nation.
For anti tank, we got HJ-12, and HJ-9 and a few other launchers, to go with a few new weapons like ATF-10 ATGM launcher. Also our attack helicopters are a must on the battlefield for us.
In terms of troop moving platforms, we aren't even discussing them much anymore, too much to name, amphibious vehicles, modern APCs, multipurpose wheeled vehicles like American humvees, but not quite like it sits more people, and much much more, @
cnleio has a ongoing thread called largest exercise or something that shows our accomplishments here.
In terms of tanks, the 96 proved itself in the tank competition, I'll show the video of the difference again if you must, and the new 99 is an information age weapon, with data link, high power engine, armor, and advanced fire control systems and much more. We also got light tanks, and a few other models. In terms of numbers, close to 1000 99s, and close to 3000 96s.
In terms of air defense, we got HQ series and in several different models, your S-300 if exist is too few, and your own missiles don't match the S-300, while our newer versions of Tunguska, and much upgraded Tor in HQ-17, are far superior to what you have and don't have.
Do we really have to do artillery? I mean that difference is just too huge.
In terms training, you can only be about what we were some years ago, the education level, the equipment level, in terms of satellites, imaging, spy, GPS, and more. Can't really make up a new strategy unless you got the hardware. Precision war is China's warfare of the 21st century. Don't think Americans started in the gulf war, and improved greatly in Iraqi and Enduring freedom, that it's now common, I can assure you it is not.
In terms of training, we got laser target systems on guns to allow more realistic training.
Now I more or less know what you have, you should know what you have, compare it yourself and see if you can still say that with a straight face.
Money talks in the military player, money talks.
I won't touch navy and air force, but if you like I could.
Now I don't claim to be 100% perfect, but all I listed here are in service and not on going. If you see something mistaken. Let me know.
