LONDON, Sept 1 (AFP) - Former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto said Saturday that she had not yet reached a power-sharing deal with President Pervez Musharraf, but was planning to return to the country soon. She told a press conference in London that her political party in Pakistan would announce the precise date of her return on September 14, though she added that she was making her plans to go back. slamabad/London, Sept 1 (PTI) Pakistan's embattled President Pervez Musharraf has received the support of the Army in his bid to enter into a power-sharing 'deal' with former Premier Benazir Bhutto but faces a rebellion in the rank and file of the ruling party, according to media reports.

Without revealing its sources in Islamabad, leading British newspaper 'The Daily Telegraph' has reported that senior figures in the military are backing an arrangement with Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party (PPP) which will ensure Musharraf's re-election and her return home to contest parliamentary polls slated for later this year.

But, the daily said that contrary to Bhutto's claims, Musharraf had rejected accepting her demand to shed his army role before the presidential polls sometime next month as part of the 'deal' because of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Q's (PML-Q) reservations over the former Premier's demand.

Even in a report published today, a Pakistani daily has claimed that ruling party chief Shujaat Hussain conveyed the outfit's reservations over the 'deal' with the PPP to the President which forced the latter to reject Bhutto's demand and express his desire to seek re-election in uniform.

"Hussain suggested Musharraf to explore other options, including dialogue with Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), in case talks with the PPP failed following which Musharraf gave a green signal to the government to contact the party as an alternative option," 'The News' quoted unnamed sources as saying in the Pakistani capital.

Yes, we are embarrased to have any of them to the names of people who have ruled us. I think of Z's policies as the worst and his name still embaresses us.

His lust for power, idiotic policies and suppression of political opponents and Indias wishes to dimember Pakistan are responsible for dividing us two brothers because we know that like us you Bangladeshis too love us and there is and always will be a bond between us because we gained independence together and we once fought together against our common foe. Most Bangladeshis also know that it was Indias will to break Pakistan and their wish for land and power which led to their intervention and know they once hated Bangladeshis (East Pakistanis) as they hated us and wanted a united Pakistan all along.

No matter what, you are our brothers and I would say that Pakistanis and Bangladeshis are still very close... this is proven by the treatment I recieved in Bangladesh.

I hope she gets arrested promptly after landing in Pakistan.

If pakistan loved bangladesh so much, why where Bangladeshis mistreated and neglected by the west pakistan govt and then slaughtered by the PA?

Please dont blame the result of the inefficiency and bruatlity of your government on India.

As I said it was the result of poor leadership. You cannot deny the bond that exists between us. Lets ask the Bangladeshis and they'll tell you. I went to Bangladesh and I was treated with utter respect and many Bangladeshis come to Pakistan and take citizenship. Now would such a reaction be possible if we hated each other so much?

Comeon! Everyone knows what the purposes of India were for joining the war. We all know you always wanted to dismember Pakistan and wanted to gain power and resources which made you guys join the war! The Bangladeshis know it themselves! They know that you hated west pakistan as much as you hated the east... you guys just came to steal from the Bangalis which is proven by the land you took from them. It was just an opportunity for India while Pakistan was involved in a civil war. Many Bangladeshis did not want Pakistan to be broken up and wanted a united Pakistan with Bangladesh and Pakistan one.

Now is'nt India responsible for breaking us apart? True, poor leadership on our side was at blame too but India was not the "Knight in shining armour" that saved Bangladesh during its time of trouble... instead it wanted to take all that it could gain from the war. You guys were as likely to help demons simply seeking to destroy all Pakistanis in Pakistan because it woud give you the chance to break up Pakistan. It was because of the opportunity you had which led to your intervention. You cannot deny it!

Except that India didn't gain anything from the war.

Excuse me? They took land from the Bangladesh! The only reason they did join the war was because they did think that they could win something.

The comment has been answered over and over again, and doesn't worth enough to be responded yet once more.

Can you tell me what lands were taken by India from Bangladesh? I never heard of anything like that.

The max I have heard is some minor border readjustment because Radcliffe award was not clear in those areas.

So, Zulfikar Bhutto is pro Indian. And his daughter is no better!

On this forum, it has also been mentioned 'Hindustani Musharraf'.

Nawaz Sharif met ABV on the Bus Diplomacy circuit and could be labelled, when it is convenient, as pro Indian.

If all these leaders are pro Indian, then who is there to lead Pakistan?

Gen Hamid Gul?

I wonder if people realise that by insulting their leaders, in a huff, they are only weakening their stand. Further, why hunt for excuses? If they were so inept, where were you all then? By all means discuss their omissions and commissions with proven facts, but not by vociferously claiming the unproven. How do you find the courage now to demean them (not that they are friends of mine). To hit a person when he is down is cowardly in my opinion. I do agree my opinion need not be yours!

If your leaders are no friends of their own country, then it is indeed a sad commentary!

Do you really believe that a man who said that Pakistanis rather eat grass but the nuclear bomb it will have, is so treacherous as to engineer the break up of Pakistan with the help of India! Do you really believe this?

I think that this statement is an insult to the Pakistani voters and Pakistan. The statement suggests that they can't differentiate a traitor from a loyal citizen and that they voted in a person who was hell bent to dismember Pakistan with the help of India!

I am aghast!
