Ben Affleck gets worked up defending Islam on Bill Maher's show

. . . .
Why you do this ? :(

@Syed.Ali.Haider - You will be most welcome. Kashmir is not what you see on TV. Surprises ...mostly pleasant ones :P
Now though there is stench everywhere, floods receded... :(

Yes, I know the damage from the recent floods is pretty devastating, but I also sure the people will soon bounce back through hard work and sheer determination. It remains an area worth visiting.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think that there is any theological barrier in Islam that forbid the Muslims from creating at least a nominal central authority figure like an advisory council where all Muslims could focus their questions regarding their faith.

Agreed.

Just like political entities, competing authority figures always results in civil wars inside borders. Christianity is politically defanged but as a whole, Islam is not, hence the sectarian conflicts we see today in Islam. Follow politics long enough, and a pattern emerges: That it is extremely rare that a civil war remains inside any border and so sooner or later, neighbors will get involved, either by will or by circumstance.

Whether its because of an inferiority complex, or due to history. Not everyone has the short mind span of an American. Arabs don't forget anything.

But you have to understand. There was no sectarian conflict in Iraq under Saddam. Yes he gassed the Kurds, but that was more of politics. Even in Assad's Syria before this Civil War, people lived peacefully, whether it was due to the fear of his secret police or just the lack of desire to shoot AKs at each other is to be debated.

Its the politics of the entire Middle East. The Saudis don't care about the Sunnis in Syria, just like the Qataris and Emirates don't give a shit about the Sunnis in Bahrain. Its political. The Saudis have a score to settle with the Assad Family, Qatar with Qaddafi. And Gulf Arabs as a whole don't want a "pro-Iranian" Shia led government 5 km off the shores of Eastern Saudi Arabia.

The Saudis are essentially holding your holy places hostage. It does not matter if you like their version of Islam or not. In holding your holy places hostage, they essentially positioned themselves as 'guardians' of Islam and will export their version of Islam independent of contentions or contracts from other sects. Simpy put: Why should they care for your opinions ?

Agreed.

Am sorry to say this but telling us non-believers the differences among you Muslims is of no help for the immediate situations we see today. Possibly, it is too late for the Muslims to enter into any sort of dialogue among yourselves as to how to resolve your differences outside of force. Pessimistically, I predict there will be a bloody civil war in the ME to attempt to establish a primacy among the sects. The blood will flow greater than the one between Iran and Iraq. And we will be dragged into this civil war.

Its never to late. I hope the oil runs out before there is any region-wide war, as it'll let each dynasty know the West doesnt give a shit about them.

This woman wept for the Holocaust, which is a fraud anyway, according to the Muslims.

Just because the Mullahs of Iran say the Holocaust is a fraud doesn't mean Muslims do.

Just because Morsi says Jews are Pigs, which is interesting since the Prophet Moses (Musa) PBUH was born from a Jewish Family would be a Pig also, doesn't mean Muslims agree with him.

There are geo-politics at play. They are just rallying their uneducated, dumba$$ followers.

So tell us, is Holocaust survivor and convert to Islam Leila Jabarin a valid Muslim or not ?

Its not for me or any other Muslim to judge the sincerity of a person who claims to be a Muslim. Leave it to God.

so now you hate him too, only because he was trying to defend Islam or muslims

.

Don't hate him, just love Batman.

Maher and the other guy kept giving wrong numbers. It still doesn't change the fact that 60% of Egyptians, an equal amount of Pakistanis support the death penalty for apostates.

But it should be seen in the context of Indonesia, Tajikistan, etc having less than 10% supporting the death penalty for apostasy.

It isn't just Islam on it's own, there is also cultural and geo-politics at play as well.

Ofcourse Muslims from Eastern Europe, Central Asia and South-East Asia tend to be more liberal. Those from Middle-East, Africa and unfortunately South-Asia are the most conservative. I do believe though, that Indian and Bangladeshi Muslims are more liberal than those to our West.

Two foam-at-the-mouth Jewish bigots (Bill Maher and Sam Harris) attacking Islam.

If the roles were reversed, it would be called anti-Semitic hate speech.

Jewish bigots?

Do some basic research before resorting to the same bigotry you are accusing these guys of.

Bill Maher is an Aethist and Sam Harris is not Jewish.

I doubt that you knew Maher was raised as a Catholic and jumped to conclusion that he is a Jew by his Jewish sounding name alone. So you screamed 'Joooooo...' the way a Stormfront goon normally would.

Maher is an Irish Name.

His father is Irish Catholic and mother Jewish but he is an Aethist.

Pakistanis have a tenency of finding a conspiracy theories and blaming Jews, Hindus for great conspiracies. Pretty much a symptom of lack of knowledge and proper education.

When will the Middle-East run out of oil ?

I don't think there is any significant bar on making and expressing any observations about any major religion in the context of a fair discussion. However, it is the responses from the followers of that religion that are important. Someone can publish a cartoon about Jesus and Moses and live to tell the tale. Indeed, he/she might even get to explain their view point on media outlets. Can we say the same thing about Islam, if we are being intellectually honest here?

That cartoon you posted is blasphemous.

. . .
Yawn.

Once again, since you got humiliated because you didn't have a clue about Jewish ethnicity v/s religion, all you can do is your stock rant about anti-Semitism.

Maher has a demonstrated bias in favor of Jewish extremists, as against other religious extremists.
He has Jewish ancestry.
It is logical to posit a connection between the two.

If an Arab were quick to criticize everyone except Arabs, it would be reasonable to ask why.
If a Pakistani were quick to criticize everyone except Pakistanis, it would be reasonable to ask why.

But if the same pattern applies to a Jewish person, one must not ask why.
Uh huh.
That is your logic ?

I said before many times that we cannot live in an intellectual and moral vacuum, and that everything we do/say must have motivations and justifications.

So if Maher hate Muslims, why not he a 'Muslims hating Catholic' ? Why MUST he a 'Muslim hating Jew' ? It is irrelevant if Maher is a Jew by ethnicity or by practice. He was raised a Catholic by his father's choice and probably by his mother's consent. So in the common sense of most people, that make Maher a Catholic, not a Jew.

Am going to hazard a guess what happened in your mind...

- Bill Maher is a Jew because he has a Jewish sounding name.

- Oh, shit ! Maher was raised a Catholic.

- Allahu Akbar ! Maher have a Jewish mother.

If Maher hate Muslims, according to YOU, it cannot be because of his Christian education and life experience, of them most likely his Jewish mother have next to no influence. He cannot draw upon his Christianity and later his overall distaste for organized religions, as motivation and justification for his harsh criticisms of Islam and Muslims.

No, it has to be that Jewish blood from his mother.

It does not matter if that Jewish blood came from an immediate relation like a birth parent. As long as there is a Jew somewhere in his family tree, even if as absurd like a "cousin's sister's uncle's grandfather's thrice removed", it would still make a person a Jew.

This is the kind of 'logic' that only Muslims and Stormfront goons could believe and MUST believe. And thanks to your public demonstration for the record -- MUST practice.

.
I think this is a conspiracy by Ben Affleck and the Jewish producers of his new Batman movie so that by ficitiously siding with Muslims, he will get more Muslim fans and they will spend money on a movie instead of funding Jihadists and they will be distracted as Israel conquers the Middle East.

Brothers we must resist such conspiracies.

End Sarcasm :D
