'Beijing-Dhaka ties will be substantially damaged if Bangladesh joins Quad'

The moment China stop investing ,BD is back to ragtag status, living on bjp handout,no nation in the world gives a flying fvk or have the intention to invest in major infracture and such in BD.The strong front is to go straight to ragtag status. Treat those who are feeding you with respect, try to change typical behavior.

Yes.... But lets take that comment apart.

1) It is india that is now surviving on the handout of China, Saudi , UAE . Its funny Modi G was trash talking China only few months ago. Now the Chinese are saving his career .

2) Yes. Its true. In the long term as Quad applies more pressure on China , China will apply more pressure on BD ( Awami league) to distance itself further from India. It will work as well, because the Chinese are now well entrenched in BD, this means sooner or later BD will leave the Indian orbit and join the Chinese orbit. So you are correct here BUT when that happens the ultimate loser will be India as this will threaten the indian control of the NE.

Therefore what you say is true. It is inevitable but there is some time yet, but why in a rush to see india to shoot itself in the foot ?

Relax. Enjoy life a little.

Don't give reasonable and logical rebuttal to this type of trash. Kick in the teeth.

Good explanation. You have lots of energy. :-)

False flagger ! @waz

Total Chinese investment is $7.1 billion as of now. Total MoM signed was about $21 billion, which I doubt at this point will get used completely.

BTW China is not handing out any money as grants, these are loans.

Dude you are an Indian, so at least your post need to have an appearance that you are an Indian !

Historically, foreign traders used Bangladeshi ports as the gateway to China and it was from here both Buddhism and Islam spread into China.

In WWII, the Allied attack on Japan was mostly made through the air bases from Bangladesh during the Burma Campaign. The main objective of this Burma Campaign was to establish network with the Chinese resistance forces against Japan and eventually to facilitate the Allied invasion of China.

China looks especially concerned as the Quad meeting took place at a time when Myanmar is going through one of its worst political turmoil.

So, yes, a lot of strategic implications are at stake and Bangladesh seems to be in the great game now.

It's high time to become matured as a nation, else, we are doomed.

Funny , Japan and Korea is still investing in BD and China hasn't stopped so idk where you pull this information out of.

Lately there are a lot of these foreign dual flags ( false flag ? ) posters on PDF siding with China. It used to be an Indian thing but now it seems like Chinese ( ?) folks got the same bug !

Of course, these are the same folks who bent over for the Brits while we in Bengal fought with odds stacked against us until a bihari had to ruin it for us all...

Not to mention, us leading from the front during the independence campaign, both from Britain and carving out a Muslim state.

But sure, who cares about that... Those who got accolades for serving in the British army in the literal droves won't understand...

Bangladesh to continue following non-aligned foreign policy: FM

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul on Tuesday said Bangladesh maintained a non-aligned and balanced foreign policy and it will decide what to do following that principles.

"We’re an independent and sovereign State. We decide our foreign policy. But yes, any country can uphold its position," he told reporters adding that they see with respect what others say.
The Foreign Minister made the remarks when his comments sought on Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming's remarks on "Quad" and Bangladesh.
"Naturally, he (Ambassador) represents a country. They can say what they want. Maybe they don't want it (Bangladesh's joining Quad)," Dr Momen said, adding that no one from the organisation that was mentioned did not approach Bangladesh.
“The comment has been an advanced one,” said the Foreign Minister.
Dr Momen said many people said many things in the past but Bangladesh is guided by its principled position.
He said they will decide following the foreign policy principles considering the interest of people and the country. "We’ll continue to do it (maintaining non-aligned and balanced foreign policy)."
"What he (Ambassador) said it's fine. We’ve nothing to say about it," Dr Momen added.

Chinese Ambassador Li Jiming on Monday said Bangladesh’s relations with China will "substantially get damaged" if Bangladesh joins "Quad", a US-led initiative.
The envoy said obviously it will not be a good idea for Bangladesh to participate in this small club of four countries because it will substantially damage the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
“So, we don’t like to see any form of participation by Bangladesh to this small group of countries,” said Ambassador Li.
He termed “Quad” a military alliance aiming against China's resurgence and its relationship with neighbouring countries.
The US, India, Japan and Australia are part of an informal strategic alliance - the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, or Quad as it is known.

Exactly:

If Awami league joins Quad: BA does coup and removes Awami league from power and installs new Govt. IA launches invasion to topple the new government in 6 months - 1 years.

If Awami league doesn't join Quad: IA launches invasion to topple Awami league in 6 months to 1 year and install new regime.
You will do better as a weather forecaster. Try it, a sure success.

You forgot to forecast what India's great friend Pakistan would do in such a case that the bulk of IA troops are engaged in BD. It will be the happiest day for them. They would make a happy and wry smile and move the PA troops to Kashmir and take it over. The IA troops with their bulk busy in the east cannot protect that onslaught.

This will be the beginning of the end of the ragtag Union of India.

Jay Hind!!!

China needs to open its checkbook and do what is necessary with its client state burma to take back its people....

There is no free lunch..... China can not wish BD neutrality when to do so we would have to risk our primary export market.

BD needs to stay out of this nonsense as much as possible. If the pressure is too much engineer a military coup or fake an internal or even external crisis to avoid making a descision. There are many many ways to delay any descision.

China cannot open its checkbook for every nation that threaten or tease with the idea of joining anti-China squadron. China wishes these nations to stay neutral and in fact it's in their best interest to stay neutral. If, however, these nations decides that Uncle Sam could offer them money and military aids, China will and should make these nations pay dearly. No mercy. Too much and too long have been wasted on inactions and appeasing talks while the circle of suppression is being built. China must use all its might to take out Australia and/or Bangledesh or even Pakistan if Pakistan decides to betrays China.

Here you are asking BD to eat free lunch. Better improve the economy and not ask others to send donations all through the next centuries. It is very shameful that people who claim themselves as the most meritorious cannot do things to develop their country and improve their lot.

Why asking for money like a beggar?

Bangladesh, China treat each other with mutual respect: China
United News of Bangladesh | Published: 18:41, May 13,2021 | Updated: 19:37, May 13,2021

China has said Bangladesh and China are friendly close neighbours and they always treat each other with mutual respect and firmly support one another on issues bearing on respective core interests and major concerns.

Hua Chunying, Spokesperson at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at a regular briefing in Beijing said in South Asia it is definitely not China that is interfering in other countries' domestic affairs.

‘I can tell you clearly that China and Bangladesh are very friendly close neighbours. We’ve grown our ties on the basis of the five principles of peaceful coexistence,’ she said.
The Spokesperson said this when Chinese Foreign Ministry's comments on Chinese Ambassador Li Jiming's remarks in Dhaka.

Hua said they all know what kind of mechanism the Quad (US, Japan, India and Australia) is.

She said China opposes ‘certain countries' efforts to form an exclusive clique, portray China as a challenge, and sow discord between regional countries and China.
Responding to a question on whether China is aggressively trying to push its foreign policy, Hua Chunying said she is not sure if the questioner's information on the statement from the Bangladesh foreign minister was an accurate quote or if further clarification is needed.
‘But one thing is clear. China always treats other countries as equals, especially small and medium ones,’ she said.

The Spokesperson reiterated that China and Bangladesh have very friendly relations. ‘We develop ties based on the five principles of peaceful coexistence, always respect and trust each other and offer each other firm support on matters concerning core interests and major concerns.’
She said China was, is and will remain committed to its principle not to interfere in other countries' domestic affairs.

‘As to the Quad, I think India knows better than us the intention of this mechanism. Isn't it intended as a small clique against China? Remarks expressing opposition to this mechanism are not about interference but about rejecting small cliques and bloc politics,’ said the Spokesperson.

She said they also reflect the aspiration for maintaining regional peace and stability.
Chinese Ambassador Li Jiming on Wednesday met Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and explained his remarks made during a programme hosted by the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh.

The meeting was held after a vaccine handing over ceremony at the state guesthouse Padma.
They discussed different bilateral issues, including Covid cooperation between the two countries, a senior official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told UNB.

They highlighted the importance of the growing relationship between the two countries.
On Monday, the Ambassador talked about a number of issues, including vaccine cooperation.
The envoy, while responding to a question, also talked about Quad, an initiative of four countries- the United States, Japan, India and Australia, that was followed by a reaction by Dhaka.

Ambassador Li said obviously it will not be a good idea for Bangladesh to participate in this small club of four countries because it will "substantially damage" the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

‘So, we don’t like to see any form of participation by Bangladesh to this small group of countries,’ said the envoy.
