What's new

Beef consumption per person. (pounds per year).

I am not doubting you, you asked me a question hence I replied.
I am from Karachi and I call it haleem. All I am saying is that some people refer to it as daleem and provided youtube channels with good number of followers.
I dont know why they are making that claim? Its simply false its called haleem literally everywhere except for those who want a more Arabized version and they are mostly individuals

With all respect it's because of the mullahfication of our society. Haleem is one of the 99 names of Allah hence they felt it should be changed. :coffee:

As long it is not chicken haleem. That is a travesty. :D
Indeed, chicken haleem and chicken nehari lovers have totally missed the boat. :disagree:

ASK Nawaz Sharif...

It has been spread that all call it haleem

Just say it Daleem and you will be safe :) when you go to Pakistan...ask anyone
Yaar I have only heard Haleem my whole life!

No it's not
I have had this discussion before with some punjabi friends but apparently it's called daleem in their region and haleem in Karachi or urdu speaking community.
Same goes for Nehari. The punjabi version of Nehari is called Chiniotti khunna but nowadays it's nehari all over Punjab.
O lord! I am from Punjab! And we all call it Haleem..only time I heard daleem was in Arab land!

ASK Nawaz Sharif...
Best answer lolz!

There's Daleem in Punjab and something called Harissa. Both look like haleem but taste different.
Yes that is actually Arab/ Persian (not sure which one) dish

Yaar I have only heard Haleem my whole life!

Who cares for names ab kuch to bulana hai but I've only heard and read haleem

Sir my opinion is based on discussions with punjabi friends but mostly on youtube video's by punjabi vloggers. They often use the word Daleem instead of Haleem.
Janaab hum b Punjabi hain and hum tou Haleem hi khatay hain from ISB, SGD, LAHORE TO MULTAN...all relatives call it Haleem....

I have eaten Harissa many times. The best one was made by the wife of my landlord in Algiers.
We also eat couscous, tahina, bulgur, durum, pide, and lamb tagine :)

I'm lost I think. Anyways the thread has gone over 8 pages and the calf stopped drinking from the mother hence it's ok to serve veal. It's halal. :enjoy:
