If we are able and capable, in case of an Indian misadventure, at minimum we should take Jammu and even Pathankot after destroying the repository there.

FACT: Conventional war between Pakistan and India is unthinkable, unwinnable and ultimately would lead to destruction of most of South Asia.
Are you crazy?

Only conventional war option India have......

Lols.....

Now, this makes me want to see an all-out offensive by PA to capture Jammu
You know Jammu is 20 miles from Pak border. Nothing but fluvial plain with many minor nalas some of which only carry water in monsoon rains. Now I want you to ask this question. Why after four generations and 70 plus years we have NOT been able to invade 20 miles into IOK?

In WW2 the German Army would blitz through 20 miles in 4 days but spearhead force would lose 1/2 of it's strength. 1/4 would be killed and 1/4 would be POW/MIA's. So if the attacking force was 400,000 men [example is Battle of Bulge] 100,000 men would be dead in 4 days. Now think about that number. Pakistan or India have not lost that many men in all the wars they have fought in 70 years.

If we as a people built the tenacity and will do advance even when half were mowed down like flies Jammu would have been captured many decades ago.

@Vergennes Can you possibly tell us how many men you coward French lost in one day at Battle of Verdun in WW1?

He's not a REAL Frenchman but a gangu who wishes he was French.

160,000 French were estimated to have been killed in Verdun. Over the 300 days of the battle, that's about 533 losses per day. Adding German casualties, that's about 1000 killed a day.

The worst day however was at the begining of the war, exactly on the 22 august 1914 when 27,000 French soldiers lost their lives in a single day. That's comparable to the 20,000 British soldiers killed during the first day of the battle of the Somme.

Do you believe you can attain such levels of casualties in a single day nowadays, even in a high intensity war ?

After all these years on this forum,it seems to be the first time someone says i'm an Indian.

I would ask you two gentlemen to act sober and stop throwing insulting/provocative remarks .... If you have difference of opinion with other member please try to address the issue in decent manner, otherwise ignore ....

BTW he is quite an old French member of the forum whom you may have noticed recently .....

Nope. Indians and Pakistani's simply don't have the stomach for that. Keyboard warriors and then gain few inches of fat after swigging some biriani. Which is probably a good thing thing. At least we won't have wars where entire generation is wiped out.

You know in UK what strikes me not a village, not town, not a neighbourhood that does not have a memorial war memorial naming the young who went and never came back. In my high school the entrance foyer had at over 100 names who died in WW1. Entire classes wiped out.

He is French mate, I have 'known' him for few years here on PDF. He is actually quite neutral with regards to PK/IN rivalry. So no point in dragging him into this slugfest.

Sorry about that.......:-)

PS We had that in my secondary school too. For both WW1 & WW2.

Apologies. You are indeed French. Sorry, I thought you were indian.

The reality is since 1948 there has been a perfect stalemate. Pakistan has failed to make any real changes to the LOC. India has also failed over 70 years to make any changes to the LOC. Fact is Maharajah gave India all of Kashmir and Pakistan was not bequeated a sliver of Kashmir as some sort of baksheesh. It has been retained at point of force for 70 years.

However after 1998 nuclear dawn the situation is now frozen. People have to sober up to this. There is going to be no Ghazwa Hind and neither is there going to be Akhand Bharat.

Hi,

There were no perfect stalemates---. It was the incompetence of pak army generals who were whiskey drunk in 1965 to take a timely action---.

In 1971 war---they were under the control of Z A Bhutto in the then West Pakistan sector of war---.

@Vergennes Apologies. I take my words back and have deleted the post! Just cant control the emotions when and where gangus get involved, it might have been the case with some french 'keyboard warriors' too at the height of their hatred for the germans..

In France there's a memorial in almost every communes of the country (that's about 30 to 35K memorials),similarly naming those who went to war and never came back.

The one above is the names of the soldiers who died in 14-18 coming from Bedarrides,a small village in southern France. See many similar last names. Entire families wiped out.

Apologies accepted. Anyway nowadays,no one has any hatred for the Germans,we think highly of them and they are our allies, our partners,I won't say brothers, but that's nearly the case. We have learned (in the hard way for both of us) to get along and let the past in the past. And nowadays,it's pretty successful.
