Battle for Chitor: Storming the Last Hindu Fortress in 1567

They were given the status of kings since local Brahmins thought they are capable. The same brahmins should have declared them as commoners once they lost the wars and should have given the title to some one who can unite and drive away the invading forces.

Rajputs has no religion at that time when they arrived , they were taken into Hinduism. The new forces that came into India are against local customs and practices.

So they were invaders who established themselves and then they were expected to defend hindustan from another set of invaders? You know what Timur though before invading Hindustan?

"Some of the nobles said “By the favour of Almighty God we may conquer India, but if we establish ourselves permanently therein, our race will degenerate and our children will become like the natives of those regions, and in a few generations their strength and valour will diminish.”

Read what Timur wrote again carefully. I doubt brahmins had any power to decide who will be ruler. Brahmins are a** lickers of rulers not rulers. Are you telling me brahmins had any power what so ever to replace rajputs with others? Brahmins said Mauryas were shudras, i doubt mauryas even cared...

It would hardly matter to rajputs if brahmins had taken away title.

So according to you before 7'th century none in India belonged to Kshtriya varna ??

Timur, The same guy claimed that he is the descendent of Gengis Khan. Are the mongols superior race than Uzbeks?

It is all about valour and ability, not race. Africans are the strongest and are a better race physically. Today every athletic sport is dominated by them. Why they have not been able to forge empires?

Timur only came to loot, if he had stayed in India he knows he will be bogged down in Delhi and there will be resistance.

If Rajput title is taken away from the lost rajputs they will become nothing, common people would have been saved by these aristocratic people who claim to be kings but are losers.

You are giving to much credit to brahmins. Once rajputs established themselves, title hardly mattered even if it was taken away. There is already exemple of Mauryas being declared shuhdras by brahmins, it hardly mattered to them.

Because they were smart and knew they couldn't do anything against central asians in plains.

Marathas showed them how to beat Mughals.

Marathas didn't beat central asians, in fact they never recovered from defeat from the hands of Abdali. Mughals at that point were not central asians, far from it. Their army consisted of local stock hindu/muslims.

There is one lesson I get from this story. Raja Bhagwant Das a rajput allied with Akbar. This increased the strength of Akbar besides giving Mughals insides information about his enemies. Alliances are important in battles and wars. This rule is even valid today.
Any comment from honorable members using this thread.

Not just Raja Bhagwan Das but also there were other hindu kings who supported Akbar like Raja Todarmal, who was made the head of revenue department.Rajputs were not only friends but partners in the Mughal Empire. Ain-iAkbari lists names of 24 Rajput mansabdars.
I must say Akbar was very smart, for he cemented his relations with Rajputs by marrying a Rajput princess.
Abolishing the Pilgrimage tax and Jizya tax in 1564( based on religion) were huge steps towards getting support from hindus.
I dont know about the inside information that you're talking about. But I can definitely say that Akbar understood that rajput could strengthen Mughal empire while Aurangzeb who did not understand the Rajput policy, ended up offending Rajputs and lost the most courageous and loyal soldiers of Mughal empire. Aurangzeb had to fight the deccan wars sans 'em and also face the Afghans single handedly. He reaped the harvest of the seeds of religious intolerance that he had sown. Duh!

By inside information I mean intelligence information. The rajput allies of Akbar would have briefed him about the weapons, tactics and other information peculiar to rajputs. The approximate amount of army, it's strong points, weak points fighting skills and that sort of thing.
