Right now in this modern age the issue is more of converting to the Islamic Economic System and less of the Punishments of Sharia. Capitalism does not provide for the basic needs of all but provides for the luxuries of few who can pay the price. On the other hand, Socialism provides for the needs of all but does not cater to human need of betterment for their personal conditions and improving their wealth. Islam is a middle of the road between these two and provides for the needs of all citizens and allows them to do private business and ownership of property so that they can improve their lot (Those that have the initiative and do hard work).

In case of a default, we should make a regional treaty with Afghanistan and Iran and Central Asian Republics which are under Russian influence and start trading with them in local currencies or Gold and Silver or Barter Trade. Also possible with India and China. Get Palm Oil from Indonesia & Malaysia in local currency or Gold & Silver. Buy Petrol and Diesel from Iran and Russia on cheap rates. End agreements with IPPs and stop buying expensive electricity from them. Similarly, buy LNG from Qatar and pay them in Wheat, Sugar and Rice. Sell garments and rock salt to African countries. In season, sell vegetables and fruits to UAE and get Gold and Silver from them in return.

It should be done all at once when the stake holders agree to changing the present system. This will include the generals and politicians and businessmen. We already have had a Referendum under Gen Zia on adopting the Islamic System in 1985. We can use the results of that referendum or do another one. Change the Constitution with the Islamic Constitution written by Taqiuddin An Nabhani which is modeled after the old Ottoman Constitution. Political Parties will have to change their Constitutions to base them on Islamic principles. Elections can be held for the Khalifah. If we elect a Khalifah, Afghanistan will easily join us and we can double our land area and resources. The present Assemblies can be converted to the Islamic Assemblies. The Islamic Constitution by Taqiuddin An Nabhani is easily available and is based on Islamic evidences.
