If you ever go to the West, McDonald's are known as poor man's dining venue.

It's the international chain hotels that counts, Lahore has none while entire Pakistan has very few to mention.

Meanwhile, in Bangladesh at least 12 international chain hotels are already in operation while another dozen under construction.

In the west, only kids want to go to Mickey D's, because they give away free toys with kiddie meals.

It's not a prestige venue to have dinner.

Mcdonalds knows that business will be tough in Dhaka, they don't wanna risk a flop on their hands after say six months.

Go see my resturant thread to get some idea of Dhaka eateries of every price level....even at Pizza Hut you get silver and China service, fast food places are very popular for kids birthdays. But Dhaka has a longtime tradition of cafes alongside political debate, a la Kolkata's Coffee House which started it all prior to WW I.

Sooo much for bhooka nanga.......

Yeah Bangladesh is the least visited country and gets clobbered in foreign brands and yet we have got far more global hospitality brands operating in Bangladesh than Pakistan!

Keep on dreaming . looking forward to yet another '' Bangladesh overtakes Pakistan in per capita '' thread in few weeks time . Ciao

The largest city of the country was rated 137th among 140 cities in the survey carried out by the Economist Intelligence Unit.

Last year, Dhaka was ranked 139th.

Dhaka is only ahead of Lagos of Nigeria, Tripoli of Libya and Damascus of Syria. It scored 38.7 out of the ideal score of 100, unchanged from last year's. Dhaka has stuck in the same score since 2011.

Enough said. Bangladesh is just as good as Libya or Syria war scenes.

People are living better lives in Pakistan as compared to India or Bangladesh

How are people living better lives if BD is leading in HDI compared to Pakistan?

Tbh the first building doesn't look at that appeal and we have resorts in small cities such as Sylhet that are on par or look better. Grant Sultan or Noorjahan in Sylhet looks way better. Check out DuSai as well. And sylhet is a tiny city in the northeast with a pop of only 500k.

So only Two chains of hotels in Pakistan Pearl Continental and Avari has about 11 luxury 5 star properties...equal to the all 5 star properties mentioned in Bangladesh...

I am not mentioning regent plaza, Ramada, Marriott, Serena, Holiday Inn, Mercure Grand, Beach Luxury, Nishat, Hospitality Inn and dozens more chain of hotels present in Pakistan.

There you go. And let's not list the number of international hotels u/c, that will just make @Khan_21 to lock himself into bathroom!
There are many 4 star hotels in Bangladesh which are almost same as 5 star,Like Hotel Agrabad and peninsula in Chittagong Hotel Serina,Purbani, regency in Dhaka, Hotel sea gull in Cox's Bazar,Hotel Rose view, Star pecific in Sylhet and many more

1) There was no plebiscite where Kashmiris said they would join Pakistan in 1947. By a tripartite agreement, the Indian Maharajas and Nawabs of the Princely states were supposed to decide on three options. Dogra of Kashmir decided to join India when in 1948 Pakistani Pathan militias suddenly attacked Kashmir. Dogra fled to Delhi and declared his alliance.
2) Same is true for Junagad and Manvadar.
3) Hyderabad was a different case. But it was far away from Pakistan. So, Nizam had very little choice but to accede to Indian demand when its military advanced there.

So, am I still twisting the facts? It is you who is day dreaming and building up your armed forces, but in the process neglecting the development of your country.

As stupid as you sound,

Gilgit's population did not favour the State's accession to India.[40] The Muslims of the Frontier Districts Province (modern day Gilgit-Baltistan) had wanted to join Pakistan.[41] Sensing their discontent, Major William Brown, the Maharaja's commander of the Gilgit Scouts, mutinied on 1 November 1947, overthrowing the Governor Ghansara Singh. The bloodless coup d'etat was planned by Brown to the last detail under the code name "Datta Khel", which was also joined by a rebellious section of the Jammu and Kashmir 6th Infantry under Mirza Hassan Khan. Brown ensured that the treasury was secured and minorities were protected. A provisional government (Aburi Hakoomat) was established by the Gilgit locals with Raja Shah Rais Khan as the president and Mirza Hassan Khan as the commander-in-chief.

Scholar Yaqoob Khan Bangash states that the people of Gilgit as well as those of Chilas, Koh Ghizr, Ishkoman, Yasin, Punial, Hunza and Nagar joined Pakistan by choice.[46][47]

After taking control of Gilgit, the Gilgit Scouts along with Azad irregulars moved towards Baltistan and Ladakh and capturedSkardu by May 1948. They successfully blocked the Indian reinforcements and subsequently captured Dras and Kargill as well, cutting off the Indian communications to Leh in Ladakh. The Indian forces mounted an offensive in Autumn 1948 and recaptured all of Kargil district. Baltistan region, however, came under Gilgit control.[48][49]

On 1 January 1948, India took the issue of Jammu and Kashmir to the United Nations Security Council. In April 1948, the Council passed a resolution calling for Pakistan to withdraw from all of Jammu and Kashmir and India to reduce its forces to the minimum level, following which a plebiscite would be held to ascertain the people's wishes.[50] However, no withdrawal was ever carried out, India insisting that Pakistan had to withdraw first and Pakistan contending that there was no guarantee that India would withdraw afterwards.[51] Gilgit-Baltistan and a western portion of the state called Azad Jammu and Kashmirhave remained under the control of Pakistan since then.[52]

Ask any Kashmiri here at the forum, they will fully support Pakistan. 2 of the mods are from GB too.

In 1947, Shah Nawaz Bhutto joined the council of ministers of Nawab Muhammad Mahabat Khan III, and in May became hisdewan or prime minister.

With the independence of India in 1947, the princely states were left by the British to decide whether to accede to one of the newly independent states of India or Pakistan or to remain outside them. The Constitutional Advisor to the Nawab, Nabi Baksh, indicated to Lord Mountbatten that he was recommending that Junagadh should join India. However, upon the advice of Dewan Bhutto, on 15 August 1947, the Nawab announced that Junagadh had acceded to Pakistan. On 13 September, the Government of Pakistan accepted the accession.[5]

The Hindu majority of Junagadh revolted, leading to the near-collapse of the state government, and a December plebiscitewhich overwhelmingly called for the integration of Junagadh into India.[2] Nawab Muhammad Mahabat Khan III of Junagadh (erstwhile Babi nawab dynasty of Junagadh) left to live in Sindh, Pakistan.[6]

After the announcement by the last Viceroy of India, Lord Mountbatten, on 3 June 1947, of the intention to partition British India, the British parliament passed the Indian Independence Act 1947 on 11 July 1947. As a result, the native states were left with these choices: to accede to either of the two new dominions, the Union of India or the Dominion of Pakistan.

The Indian Government made efforts to persuade Nawab Sahab of Junagadh to accede to India, but he remained firm. The Indian minister V. P. Menon came to request an accession to India, threatening consequences in case of denial. The Nawab however decided to accede to Pakistan, and an announcement to this effect was made in the gazette of Junagadh (Dastrural Amal Sarkar Junagadh) on 15 August 1947.[3][not in citation given]

Instrument of accessionEdit

Immediately after making the announcement in Dastrural Amal Sarkar Junagadh, the Jungadh government communicated to Pakistan its wish to accede, and a delegation headed by Ismail was sent to Karachi with the Instrument of Accession signed by the Nawab. The Constituent Assembly of Pakistan considered the proposal in detail and approved it. The Quaid-e-Azam,Muhammad Ali Jinnah, as Governor General of Pakistan, counter-signed the Instrument of Accession on 15 September 1947. This was notified in the Gazette of Pakistan and Dasturul Amal, the Gazette of Junagadh, on that date.

The Instrument of Accession provided for the right of the Pakistan legislature to legislate in the areas of Defence and Communication, as well as others.

Although the territory of Junagadh was geographically not adjoining the existing Pakistan, it had a link by sea through theVeraval Port of Junagadh.

Menon's reactionEdit

V. P. Menon, the Secretary of the States department of the Government of India, travelled to Junagadh on 17 September 1947 and met Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto, the dewan (or Chief Minister) of Junagadh. Menon said he had brought a message from the Indian Government and wished to deliver it to the Nawab in person. Bhutto said he could not arrange a meeting with the Nawab as he was not feeling well. Menon expressed displeasure, but conveyed the message of the Indian Government to Bhutto, insisting that Junagadh should withdraw its accession to Pakistan. Bhutto told Menon that the accession was now complete and that according to international law only the Government of Pakistan was responsible.[citation needed]

Menon went to Bombay and met Samaldas Gandhi, a journalist of Rajkot who was related to Mahatma Gandhi, and others, and unfolded the scheme of "Arziee Hukumat" (Provisional Government).[4][not in citation given]

On 24 September 1947, Mohandas K. Gandhi condemned the action of the Junagadh government in a prayer meeting held at Delhi

At least you accepted the facts on Hyderabad Deccan.

Finally, as I said don't poke your irrelevant nose in affairs that you are uneducated of. Keep licking master's in hope of their approval. Pakistan will keep fighting for the rights of Kashmiris. If they want india, they are free to go, if they want independence then they are most welcome, if they want to merge their state with Pakistan they have full right to do so. The reason why pushtuns went in to fight was to save Kashmiris against dogra who was massacring them like chickens. A Bangladeshi should be least concerned about it as you are no party to it.

I am already thinking about acquiring a Visa of Bangladesh and retire !They do have more fish in their waters than pakistan do.:sarcastic:

And that excuse about Pakistan experiencing a "Quasi war" and other things that is lagging its economy is true but Bangladesh is also facing calamaties every other day, it is prone to natural disasters, mudslides that happened in the hill tracts, cyclones, flooding and kid you not these aren't low level threats and affects thousands and thousands of live, no one dares to undermine a natural calamity in BD. Our politics has to be the most the violent in South Asia with numerous hartals happening all year round...Bangladesh not long ago was a war torn country.

BD is still more corrupt than PK or Ind.
