Bangladesh squeezes imports of luxury items amid economic crisis

Isn't that common sense during a global recession? Why on earth should the govt allow forex to be spent on unnecessary imports??
Why blame on global recession? It has nothing to do with BD economy.

Newspapers are again printing fake dollar reserves. It is not even $26 b but this fake news says it is $34 b. Every idiot understands that $34 billion reserves do not cause panic.

BAL people are trying to make us believe unbelievable things. The market knows the reality, and Taka will keep on falling.

Excellent reply.

Only lazy buggers want to live a “simple life”.

It’s euphemism for I want to eat, sleep, watch Bollywood movies and pray Namaz in between.

That’s literally how most Muslim ladies in US and U.K. live. Very few work!!!

The story amongst the middle class of BD is even worse.

You really are getting even more unhinged by the day!!! If that’s possible

Sky rocketing price of oil and essentials having no affect on BD 🤣🤣

Truly unhinged!!

I have read Bhagavad Gita, and that inspired me to grind on my research 14 hours a day, workout in gym 6 days a week, and getting bigger than the challenges I faced. And took me out from a small village to do my PhD from an elite university., and more so.

I do not aspire to live a simple life, where one is contend with driving a cab, or running a corner store. I came here to be in the top 1% and my faith has been alongside me in this journey so far, and even stronger.

Maybe you should give Bhagavad Gita a chance, then you may start working on your own betterment, and stop painting the picture of simplicity to hide your incompetence.

You are using your arrogance to hide your inner insecurities and hollow soul.

The goal of life is to earn the trust and friendship of another human, not pursue money. Money cannot buy happiness.

You think you make a few hundred thousand a year in the US, can afford a few orders of Papri Chaat and a few packets of Khatta Meetha Chanachoor, buy your Mrs. a few baubles and sarees and you've "made it".

H1B idiots and their dreams. :-)

Your selfish pursuit of wealth and fame is useless and perfunctory. You are nothing person with nothing as far as wealth.

People in my immediate family and my friends probably have a hundred times more wealth and can buy your miserly US existence dozens of times over.

But - be happy with what you got. This is your limit. Thank Bhagwan where he has gotten you. It is a long way from andhi-gully....

I personally don't care about upper middle class trappings anymore. Money is only to pay the mortgage and bills, nothing more.

So you're an almost middle aged guy who is trying to prove to others that you're worthy? You're not researching for betterment of science! And small hindu town to an elite Abrahamic American university isn't something to brag about.

The way you looked down on people who want to live a simple life, seems like you took the casteism part of hinduism very seriously.
