Correct, but do tell me how many expatriates/immigrants from both India and Pak interact in the Punjabi languageI am correct... punjabis make up the majority of Pakistan 45 percent where as Ethnical Urdu speaking population only make up 8 percent.
So if I'm correct why'd you say I wasn't initially. Not good to backtrackCorrect, but do tell me how many expatriates/immigrants from both India and Pak interact in the Punjabi language
I am correct... punjabis make up the majority of Pakistan 45 percent. Don't know what your talking about.
Percentage of population who are ethnically Urdu is only 8 percent

And go back to my original statement/s, read it again and tell me what factual inaccuracies you find in it, and then tell me what did I backtrack onSo if I'm correct why'd you say I wasn't initially. Not good to backtrack
I know . Natives of the Potohar plateau, British govt incentivised immigration in 60's and 70's for people displaced by the Mangla dam.In Pakistan .. You are a punjabi based upon your domicile... Can you even imagine a Marathi chief minister in indian punjab? Nope..
Unlike India .. We have ppl from all other provinces living in Punjab .. Southern Punjab is dominated by Baluch and Pakhtuns (who have been living there dice centuries)..
Several Pashtuns n Baluch have been the CM's & Governors of Punjab ..
Potohar has Pashtuns n hindkou and pothohari speaking Pakhtuns .. Who have been living there since centuries ...
And so on.
Most Pak Britishs in UK are from Azad Kashmir .. Specially Mirpur region ..
Ok... I said majority of Pakistanis are punjabis ethnically. You popped out like a superhero saying I'm wrong and there's another major ethnicity Implying Urdu . I showed you the figures regarding ethnically punjabis and Urdu speakers 45vs 8. . After that you said I'm correct punjabis are the majority. And go back to my original statement/s, read it again and tell me what factual inaccuracies you find in it, and then tell me what did I backtrack on

BTW, going offtopic (as if it would make a difference), this is BD national airlines:
No dear, in post #61 you say:Ok... I said majority of Pakistanis are punjabis ethnically. You popped out like a superhero saying I'm wrong and there's another major ethnicity Implying Urdu . That's called backtracking my friend

No dear, in post #61 you say:
"Majority of overlap between Indians and Pakistanis are Punjabis". Now let us do some calculations:
8% of Pakistani population are the Urdu/Hindustani language speakers= 14.4 million
45% of Pakistani population is Punjabi= 81 million
Population of Punjabis in India= 27.9 million
Population of Hindi/Hindustani language in India= 350-400 million (Bihar, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi)
Now tell me which one is the major overlap
And when did I dispute that. One is an administrative unit, the other is a geographical representationMirpur is in AJK not in Potohar ..
Again, when did I dispute that , do you even bother to read the background of the conversation? In Pakistan a person living in Punjab = Punjabi.. Don't you get it..?
There is a difference between Urdu and Hindi my friend, they are two separate languages don't know why your trying to lump it together as Hindustani just to make your argument hold. Not anywhere did I mention Hindustani only Urdu.No dear, in post #61 you say:

Nope. It is widely agreed that Urdu/Hindi or more neutrally called the Hindustani language is mutually intelligible and for all intents and purposes is the same language. The only major diff is the script, but then we do not write to interact with others, we speak! So my argument still standsThere is a difference between Urdu and Hindi my friend, they are two separate languages don't know why your trying to lump it together as Hindustani just to make your argument hold. Not anywhere did I mention Hindustani only Urdu.
Now lets do some maths
8% population of Pakistan ethnically Urdu speakers= 14.4 million
5% population of India ethnically Urdu speakers= 51 million
Total combined= 65.4m
45% of population of Pakistan ethnically punjabi speakers= 81m
Population of punjabis in India= 27.9 million
Total combined= 108.9million
Now you tell me what's bigger 109m or 65mil
Now tell me which one is the overlap
Mate Hindustani is not a recognised language in either India or Pakistan. Your argument does not stand. Both Indian and Pakistani gov along with the rest of the world consider them separate languages for 'all intents and purposes'Nope. That's called backtracking my friend to first say I'm wrong then to say I'm right after figures are provided
