Bangladesh protests Pakistan Parliament resolutions

I dont know how you disassociated yourselves with the urdu language after dismemberment in 71. but it WAS a language of the muslims in the subcontinent. generally everyone understood it, except peasants ofcourse with limited interaction. and thats what the vision was to build a nation, above regional differences, above provincialism with some common grounds like language. it was no threat to Bangali language but only arrogance. Jinnah himself didnt speak Urdu, why would he be victimizing the bangalis only when it was for all of us?
Most of us were and still are peasants...farmers....farmers were and still are the most influential group in Bangladesh....they were the frontline fighters in 71....Jinnah made many mistakes not on his own but due to pressure on him by various lobbys from the beginning...The first one being the creation of one state instead of two...I don't blame him!

Why are you talking in context to Pakistan when nobody asked for it. You shud have read my previous replies before replying on my post. I never questioned whats in Pakistan. I only question, why Pakistanis want to force their style on others? Simple.

Why do you want India to mearge you? I mean has any Indian said they want Bangladesh? Infact thats the biggest contention among us. illegal entering of Bangladeshis into India. Why bring India here unnecessarily? Or have you too become schizophrenic like Pakistanis who dream that India is preparing to invade them?
YES.....there are enough nutjobs from your side yapping about Akhand Bharat all day long....and trust me including us in this BJP-RSS wet dream will be the last thing you want to do.....we have mastered the art of rioting through the ages....just ask anyone who lived in WB in 47!

The resolution is upright, you cannot go on to kill opposition leaders of Bangaldesh in Pakistans' name?

If you must go to elections, go on performance bases...not on dirty politics of victimization !
There will be no election in BD....this is not an election!

You think Kader Molla was your man? The way you are supporting Kader Molla gives a very bad name for Pakistan.

I was talking in context of Pakistan to @IamBengali. Why are you confusing my replies to him as replies to your's?

Did Pakistan ever on state level officially tried to implement it's style to other nations?

maybe you are mistaken its 99.9 % who never knew nor know urdu.

that is bangladeshi local song :bunny:

I remember a drama on NTN Pakistani channel, Maig Malhar, the song was sung in that drama. and its probably used in some film too in 60s.

Its really beautiful, loving it, and above all sung by Sir Alamgir, the legend !

What do you mean commoner's language??Even Biharis in Bangladesh cannot speak Urdu properly! How would you expect us to understand a language most of us have never learnt??Speaking of English we did not ask you to make it a state language....English is not a state language and neither is used in government or courts in Bangladesh! And in a previous comment you called English 'our' master's language...while it is you oh proud urdu speaker who has declared English as a state language...not us!

All these ethnic groups live in the same region....we do not...!You should have united under Bengali language not a minority language like Urdu!

That's what Jinnah thought, There should be something besides Islam to keep a sense of unity in East and West Pakistan while retaining the local culture.

And he failed miserably in calculating that Bengalis neither have a strong sense of being religious and nor believe in a vast unity and later Rulers fcuked up the situation instead of taking delicate approach towards whole situation

I think they could have burnt Yahya Khan's effigy instead of Jinnah. Jinnah is not liked by majority of people but not hated. Yahya is seen as a representative of Shaitan in BD. There is even a popular caricature of Yahya Khan depicting Shaitan.

You Pakistanis are mostly responsible for provoking. Just withdraw that resolution. Everything will get normal.

Then stop doing judicial murders and give everyone a fair chance instead of kidnapping and banning entry of defense witnesses

bhai mere baat suno, dont act like a douchebag, urdu movies jo Bangali bantay thay, woh kiya west pakistan walo kay liye thi? each one of you, including each one of us from Afghanistan to the far fetched areas of Bangal knew how to speak and write Urdu. the point is your local arrogance and provincialism led you to a different path, and eventually you got what you were led to.

I am currently on a trip of Rajasthan with my family, sitting on the Jaisalmer platform waiting for my train back to Delhi. Met a Bangladeshi family from Chittagong in Chowki Dhani Jaipur, they had a terrible time understanding Hindi (or what you may say Urdu)

YES. Jinnah tried to force Urdu on Bengalis of East Pakistan against their will. I wont say other nations but yes, there was force and dictatorship on its own people rite frm day 1.

Well Jinnah wasn't much religious either...not much different from us Bengalis!

Now you are just playing with the words. It's not enforcing language. For last 7-8 years Jinnah was saying Urdu would be official language of Pakistan. Why bengali's didn't object it than????

Well Jinnah wasn't much religious either...not much different from us Bengalis!

If he didn't had a beard and show masses he pray 5 times publically it doesn't mean he wasn't religious. Personal accounts in Urdu of people close to Jinnah indicated he was as religious as any Molvi but he didn't flaunt it in public
