A province...colony has different meaning. All provinces had regional langs, and urdu as a unifying lang. The frontier province had nothing to do with urdu that way. But urdu was the official (unifying) lang.

On a side-note protesting against pakistan is one thing...burning the effigy of Quaid is another. If they hate Quaid, they should show that in action and not in words, and undo what the Quaid did...merge with India. They should undo their independence..before burning Quaid's effigies.

Be 100% sure that BAL has no problem to be merged with India, but that is just not possible for them.

In our national TV controlled by BAL promotes that Two Nation Theory was a big mistake [i saw a TV report in BTV] which indicates that BAL are ready at any time to be merged with Akhand Bharat for which they are working long time since before 71/

Pakistan is not Punajb, We had Baluchi,Sindhi,Pashto, Punjabi in pakistan. But no one cared and understood the requirement of URDU as a language to communicate with other races in Pakistan. It's not about British promoting urdu language. You are comparing apple and oranges

If British has exposed Urdu in Bengal but they promoted Bengali for provincial language in Bengal while in Punjab, Urdu was promoted as provincial language instead of Punjabi.

If English is an International language, Urdu was national language back then. Bengali language was a regional language. If promoting Urdu language in West Pakistan hasn't diminished or destroyed Punjabi,Sindhi,Baluchi,Pushto than how could have it destroyed bengali language????

I think a political party might use acts like the one discussed for votes, exploiting emotions of public, but in reality no political party would give away their country as it takes away their chance to be central ruling govt. If Bdesh merges with india, both parties in bangladesh will never be able to become national govt...only provincial govt at max..and no one wants that. Its like apne paun pe kulhari maarna.

I dont know how you disassociated yourselves with the urdu language after dismemberment in 71. but it WAS a language of the muslims in the subcontinent. generally everyone understood it, except peasants ofcourse with limited interaction. and thats what the vision was to build a nation, above regional differences, above provincialism with some common grounds like language. it was no threat to Bangali language but only arrogance. Jinnah himself didnt speak Urdu, why would he be victimizing the bangalis only when it was for all of us?

Why are you talking in context to Pakistan when nobody asked for it. You shud have read my previous replies before replying on my post. I never questioned whats in Pakistan. I only question, why Pakistanis want to force their style on others? Simple.

Bangladesh will not merge with India.....its not good for us...and we will make sure it will not be good for them!

Why do you want India to mearge you? I mean has any Indian said they want Bangladesh? Infact thats the biggest contention among us. illegal entering of Bangladeshis into India. The resolution is upright, you cannot go on to kill opposition leaders of Bangaldesh in Pakistans' name?

If you must go to elections, go on performance bases...not on dirty politics of victimization !
