Guys u have to realize that the monkeys protesting against PAK and in this case who burned BKZ and Jinnah's effigy R indo-awami shabagis. A fringe extremist minority bought out by BAL when there is any need to cause a diversion. The country is in flames due to BAL's bakshal facist aspirations and PAK-hate is the only thing these loons have. As for the shabagis, u have to realize they r directly Indian backed and an awami political outfit that doesn't even represent the secular portion of the society (as they claim) let alone majority Bangladeshis. They don't even number in the 100s and demonstrate under police protection and barricade whereas rallies r actually banned in the city.

English is an int'l language. So this is not the same thing but even today you go in BD and speak in English. Most people can't speak English properly. Even my skill in English is not good at all. I studied in Bangla medium where everything was in Bengali apart from one English book.

How an Hindu can understand Muslim culture? Nada, zilch

Again the same stereotypical mentality. We Indians live in such a pluralistic society that an educated Hindu knows much much more bout SubContinent Islam better than anyone else. Now for that u wud have to agree first that Muslims around the world are different from each other and have their unique culture and attitude.

Infact, a Keralitte Muslim is different from Tamil Muslim which is different from Bengali, UP, Bihari, Maharshtrian, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Hyderabadi, etc etc.

An Indian infact understands bout much more types of Muslims that Bangladeshi and Pakistanis can. This is called being in a pluralistic society which a PAkistani can never understand and nor do I expect.

You think 70 million people who can only speak Bengali would stay calm when a West ruler wants to instil another 'foreign' language forcefully to them? You could have several languages in your West Pakistan but East Pakistan there is only one language Bengali. How can it be visionary to declare a language as sole state language where the Urdu language is seen as a 'foreign' language?

British introduced Urdu as an official language of Punjab, only province where British neglected promoting the local language, so West Pakistanis had good exposure to Urdu by the time Pakistan was created. Lahore gave many famous Urdu writers and poets during British rule.

I think:

The word "Bangali" provokes racism, the word "Bangladeshi" provoke "nationalism".

The word "Bangali" reminds stinginess and an ethnicity, the word "Bangladeshi"reminds a national identity and ideology.

Three facts why the claiming "Banglai" is disgraceful being a Bangladeshi:

1. Indian Bangalis never opted for a separate country like Bangladesh.

2. If a separate ethnic people in India and Pakistan start bragging to be Panjabies, Telegu, Banglalies, Assamese, Shindhis, Balochis, kashmiries or pathans over their national identity like Indian or Pakistani, they would see ethnic and sectarian violence or lack of integrity in their country. So we not promote identity based on ethnicity but nationality for our existence.

3. Bragging to be Bangali over Bangladeshi undermines other tribal ethnics in BD, and BAL is promoting that.

Fresh beginning will take time bro. For that PAK also has its fair share of work. For eg. PAK gov,establishment, diplomats, intellectuals did criminal negligence in debunking some 71 myths such as 3 million death internationally. It was indians that shaped 71 history. Diplomatically PAK should debunk such myths and help pro-BD intellectuals establish facts so that both countries can reconcile with their respective history. Both BD and PAK can have their versions of hisotry but keeping facts intact and not giving room for animosities to be flared by 3rd parties. That would be the biggest contribution PAK can do to the victims of 71 (both bengalis and non-bengalis) IMHO.

Having said that, PAK should be cautious abt how to deal with awami BD. I say keep a small profile and don't give ammunition to a already politically ruined Hasina. BAL will be ousted soon inshallah and after that BD would need a long reconciliation process to cope with the violence and death of the last 5 years. Pray for BD so that we can both move forward.

Why shud they? Your so called Bangladesh was never created for the sacred identity of Bengalis but a seperate nation for Muslims. So rightly, all those Muslim Bengalis who wanted to, migrated and all Hindu Bengalis who were already in to be created East Pakistan stayed. How is Indian Bengali responsible?
