Bangladesh permits India to withdraw water from Feni river

Ah thanks for that link. It seems more to be driven from just lack of use of the whole arrangement, rather than some huge use but forcible suppressed revenue kind of conspiracy:

.
I don't know what's going inside curtain, but I am sure Bangladesh armed forces will not let India become successful.

And also we are not going to make any defense pact with India. However I expected teesta treaty, so I am very much disappointed.

@Al-zakir It's my answer to your question too!

Bd armed forces deviated from their Islamic root. They used take oath with Quran, now they take oath in-front of Bharti general. I’ve no faith in them. There will be more disappointments for you in coming days though I hope I’m dead wrong.

Inshallah you will be proven wrong, just have deep faith in Allah, and also have faith in our armed forces. Do not forget that we got our military heritage from Muslim rulers, a joint nation that was inheritance of Mughal or other Islamic sultanate, so current democratic weak leaders will not be able to hold them. And also appearance is deceiving most of times! So we shouldn't lose hope.

The real problem is now this democratic cult era they ( military authority) can't run a country directly, because our business depends on the westerns who are actually dividing and ruling the world with fake democratic system. And Muslims nations became poor, so we have no other way to do business with them in order to survive!

So I believe that they ( our armed forces) decided to fight fire with fire, and fortunately civilians do not understand the game. It's a blessing. It's just my opinion, but please look at the history!

We ( Muslims) always had a great military culture that was dedicated for the good of mankind. And in such cases ( when you are playing role from behind) sometimes they need to retreat, as it's also a great strategy!

Look at Pakistan, you will realize things. Also please carefully observe Tahrir square twice and now for third time.

Without military back up civilians can't do such things. Well in the case of Mr moorsi it may look odd right?

But imo, moorsi was not a wise leader like Erdogan. He ( moorsi) wanted to change things very fast and the current society was not very fast to update the change. Change should be made slowly, so that will last long.

Look at Mr Erdogan, how nicely he is handing things? I wish every Muslim nation can have an Erdogan, so that we can elevate ourselves again.

But in the end Allah knows the best!

What a tone of talking as if you are the only master of knowledge on the river water flow!! It is you who is the one who does not understand that Feni is not to be equitable with Teesta. We will give only a tiny 1.82 cusec of Feni water to Tripura for drinking. But, learn how much quantity is 1.82 cusec before you talk nonsense again.

Irrespective of what you guys love to say, you have to learn the truth before you start abusing your stay in the PDF. Now, read the link below to read that west Bengal has allowed a flow of 5,000 cusec of water through Teesta last winter. Without a treaty, I am not sure about the future but it was good last season. Now, read and learn!!

https://www.dhakatribune.com/bangla...on-project-to-start-in-3-districts-of-rangpur

Oh my master of knowledge on the river water flow and tone specialist!! Please have mercy on my poor ignorant soul, if my tone of talking gave wrong impression and offended you somehow. It's sad you don't listen your own advice and got triggered reading my first line in my previous thread ignoring the rest of it. Or maybe i failed to make you understand what i was trying to say. :(

I was talking about not giving those POS any more favor whether it's few/huge amount of water or any other thing. We already gave them too much and got very little in return. India was withdrawing water from Feni river in zero point of border illegally already without a pact, showing BD and international law middle finger since 2010. They just made their oppression halal because some media and people started to make fuss about it. So it's already clear they don't really need a MoU to do their shit.

Now you seem quite satisfied with the amount of water with get from India and talk about water management like our pathetic, looser PM who can't achieve anything from negotiation with India, let alone Teesta deal and try to be satisfied with whatever she gets like a dog which gets satisfied with the scraps/left-over his master provides.

How dare you say it's ok to give India few amount of water to solve the water issue in certain Indian town like our spineless PM when our farmers-fishermen suffer from water shortage in Teesta, Farakka and other places, when India keeps getting everything they want and yet this fuckers stay neutral on Rohingya issue while boast about close/husband-wife relation between Indo-BD. Have you no self-respect as Bangladeshi? While i am seeing you criticizing BAL and India (??), i kinda sense sympathy for India from both of your statement. It's more like you two gave up and accepted whatever we get from India after getting rejected multiple times over Teesta. Pathetic!!

Back to your 1.82 cusec water illusion Hasu Begum and her hubby Modi created. You just believed that India will only take 1.82 cusec water eh? o_O India is that much honest, huh?:lol: Report says in 2010 Bangladesh agreed to give the 1.82 cusec water India wanted but didn't inform India the decision, so i already said what happened next but India wasn't actually withdrawing 1.82 cusec water. Mallus were withdrawing 35 to 40 cusec water from the river and according to the book "Rivers of Bangladesh" published by BWDB in 2005 only 47 cusec waters remains during dry season from February to April. So master of knowledge on the river water flow!! Mr. @bluesky babu can you tell this ignorant guy if it's ok to have only 7 cusec water left for us during dry season. Even if you still think it's ok, other experts might disagree with you.

https://www.bbc.com/bengali/news-49953040

Now about the 5000 cusec water you also seem kinda happy/satisfied/OK. Irrigation of 79379 hectares of land depends on Teesta water. The report you shared clearly says water flow in the river was 1500 cusec in the last 15 days which is average we get as you already stated. The flow of water increased to 5000 cusec only on Saturday. And it's not regular flow. It was 6500 cusec in 1997, reduced to 1348 cusec in 2006 and only 700 cusec in 2014 according to Prothom Alo's report in 2015. It was 800 to 900 cusec from the Bangladeshi entry point to Teesta Barrage and 300 to 400 cusec after that area in last year. From 2005 to 2014, there wasn't really any water during dry season in that 10 years. Whatever amount we got, it was used for irrigation in Teesta barrage area. The river totally dies after that area in Dalia point during dry season and turns into char.

Few more things to be noted from the report you shared:

“There are plans to bring 79,000 hectares (79379 hectares) of land under this irrigation project in the three districts. It will depend on the availability of upstream flow of the river water.

The officer further said: “It is possible to irrigate 50,000 hectares of land with the amount of water present. Irrigation might be possible in the command area of 79,000 hectares of land if water availability increases.

Dalia Division Water Development Board Executive Engineer Abdullah Al Mamun said: “The flow of water in Teesta river is steady. If this continues, we can start irrigation in the 79,000 hectares of land.

Now question should be asked "Will the flow of water be steady?", "Will there be enough water available to irrigate 50,000 hectares of land in next year?", "Will the water availability increase to irrigate 79,000 hectares of land?" or "Will the farmers of 29000 hectares of land sit idly and suck their thumb while the others irrigate their lands?"

We can get few answers from the data i provided above. Now report says in 2006-07, 2008-09 and 2013-14 out of 79379 hectares of land we were able to irrigate 11323, 29425 and 27486 hectares of land in dry season which was 14%, 37% and 35% of total land for irrigation. A report in 2018 says we couldn't provide more than 500 cusec of water to irrigation project in five years. And we are not even talking about the rest of area which don't get water, floods and fishermen there.

So i don't understand why are you ok with/celebrating this 5000 cusec of water as i am certainly not the master of knowledge on the river water flow here. Does the amount look adequate to you? Does this picture or satellite image tells you that amount is ok for us?

f88b4f841fe160c15596fefd7068a8bc-5adc9ea082a94.jpg

We need 4000 cusec water to save the existence of Teesta, 8000 cusec water to keep the Teesta barrage project functional properly and 20000 cusec water to keep the water flow normal. If Mamata didn't object the Teesta deal in 2007 we would've gotten 40% of water. This woman has more guts than our Hasu madam. I think the BJP leaders are damn right when they say she should be Bangladesh's PM as our the current can't bring any positive result from negotiation with India.

"Read and learn!!" you said, yeah i listened your advice and read and learnt few things. Now it feels like you didn't even listen your own advice and didn't even research/analyze properly and think about/get the whole picture before replying to me. While you sound ok with 5000 cusec water, i want the amount we really deserve. You might have no objection about giving 1.82 cusec water but we have. They don't care about our people's suffering so why should we care about their people? We shouldn't provide single drop of water or any favor anymore.

If you still wonder why are we creating tempest in a tiny teacup that can contain only 1.82 cft of water then perhaps you should refrain from participating India-BD related discussion. We already lost one of our own because of talking about this one sided friendship/slavery. We need equality in Indo-BD relation. You keep full-filling India's demand, get nothing in return and the Bharat Mata bitch will play with you forever. We have to be tough and stand up against the two POS/bullies in both sides. কুত্তারে মুগুর না মারলে কি কুত্তা কখনও সোজা হয়? Did you get my point? Did i make it clear this time? Did you understand what i am saying?

Sooooooooooo long post!!! You must be awarded a Nobel Prize for making a TAL out of Til. Did not I say no one really knows about the future flow of Teesta in the post that I sent the link of? Now, talk about your 1.82 cft of water per second that BD will allow India instead of much talking about 5,000 cft per second Teesta water last dry season that India allowed to BD.

Your own shedding of crocodile's tear itself has already surpassed 1.82 cft per second. Better drink a few glasses of water to keep you fit for the next session. Some Magazwala guys would have cried against the installing of India surveillance equipment for the Indian navy. But, this military news is nothing but 1.82 cusec water is too much to your feeble mind.

A post must be objectively written and not in a haphazard way.

@Al-zakir!

Yes military are angels. They are sent down from sky directly by God. Just like Hussein Ershad was a peer. All other people baad. military gooood.
I don't know why people are so mad at democracy. Even though they never implement it properly. The things we are saying in the forums is possible because of the concept of democracy. If it was the olden days of Sultans and Kings and Emperors you uttered any words. Then off with your head!

.
Yes military are angels.

No they are not. However if you carefully observe the recruitment process of military, you will find only physically and mentally ( any mental conditions) very stable people are approved in military. Also they train some special manner.

I don't know why people are so mad at democracy.
Because common people faced 2001-2006 incident in Bangladesh, and people like you were roaming in the cars, lived in a fortified house, or used generator to supply electricity.

Try to walk on street, you will realize why people don't care about democracy.

Even though they never implement it properly.
People are actually mad at improper democracy. First walk on street, suffer with common peoples, and then write for democracy. If you guys can, then surely people will stop despising democracy. If democracy will be established, it must be established in it's proper form. If not then no democracy at all.
If it was the olden days of Sultans and Kings and Emperors you uttered any words. Then off with your head!

Yes that time people were subject, not citizen. However I was just saying that Muslim rulers were much better than others.

However without bringing absolute monarchy or even proper democracy , you can make a far better nation. China is the best example of this.

Please don't give me establishment bullshit. Have you seen the question paper? Maybe not. We still have to spend hours memorizing Bengal Grammar stuff invented by some Indian Pandits who had nothing better to do on their free times. Armies are mentally brainwashed to follow orders. Their is little freedom or individuality in lower rank soldiers.

If you really are sincere then establish paramilitary volunteer wings like Sheikh Mujibor Rahman envisioned "Peoples Army". I am sure the "paid" army would oppose such idea and kill any leader who proposes that since this is what truly empowers people.

Because common people faced 2001-2006 incident in Bangladesh, and people like you were roaming in the cars, lived in a fortified house, or used generator to supply electricity.

Try to walk on street, you will realize why people don't care about democracy.

What do you mean people like me? I am common citizen. I don't get to visit those exclusive army member night clubs at cantonment you see. If too much truth is spilled it might be too sour for you to swallow so keep your personal insults to yourself.

You mentioned 2001-2006 what was that? Was that a democratic time? RAB was created in 2004 from mostly members of army and some police during that time. Which was involved in killings of many of the then opposition party. Time has changed since than. The oppressor has become now the victims of the same tools they created. But establishment remains. Because they are above law. No one can dare touch them. They are holiest of holy.

Why are we having this discussion on Pakistan defense forums really? Why is Bangladeshi culture so bad that we can't have this discussion in openly in Bangladesh. Why can't we talk openly. It's not because of some political party. It's the culture of us Bangladeshis. Our mindset must change. We have to realize freedom of speech is a good thing. And must not shoot our own foot.

People are actually mad at improper democracy. First walk on street, suffer with common peoples, and then write for democracy. If you guys can, then surely people will stop despising democracy. If democracy will be established, it must be established in it's proper form. If not then no democracy at all.

People love democracy by default. Unlike military industrial complex that push for tighter control on people. Let me ask you a simple question. Let's say there was no democracy than who would run the country? You? Bangladesh has seen military dictatorship for long times too. what good has come out of it. The 2001-2006 period you mentioned don't forget the then prime minister was wife of a Military officer.

Lol. We have poor democracy lets have dictatorship. Is like saying I am getting sexually harassed lets get raped.

Yes that time people were subject, not citizen. However I was just saying that Muslim rulers were much better than others.

However without bringing absolute monarchy , you can make a far better nation. China is the best example of this.

Ooof. You mention Muslim rulers then talk about China etc I don't even know whether to laugh or cry or to dig Mao Dong from grave and tell him to shoot me. I mean he was responsible for at least 45 million Chinese death after all.

Chinese government is corrupt to the core. Every move is monitored. There is mass online surveillance and censorship. You will say well other countries do that too. But the difference is under a democracy you were not supposed to do those kind of stuff. While in china it's legal. People are brainwashed to believe it's good for them.

This youtuber makes excellent videos what's it's really like in China.

And here are some more "fun" facts about China.

Chinese religious cults are among the most notorious terrorists in the world.

But your tone and thoughts are not like common citizens. You sound like intellectuals!
No doubt, he is another neo-intellectual with the same level as @Nilgiri. I wish his long fator fator will solve all the politics-related issues in Golden Bangladesh although I could not really understand what he really wanted to propose.

Is it because I lack wisdom and knowledge to understand his points?

.
Can you define what is an anti-Pakistan mouthpiece? I am talking about what the PA troops did in BD. It is no secret and all the people in the world, except perhaps you, know about it. Do you think all these people are anti-Pakistan for knowing and telling the truth?

By the way, with two flags of the Master Race why does it hurt you to know about the 1971 war?

Donation of this 1.82 cusec of water must be bad because Pakistani posters are saying so unanimously although the entire Feni river water is flowing in from Tripura itself. They are thinking Tripura has become part of the contested Kashmir. Quite a bad illusion!!!

India is already withdrawing 72 cusec water using 36 pumps for some time without authorization. What you are talking about 1.82 cusec water giving to Tripura as donation.

It appears Hasina government is completely clueless of what’s going on in the ground or just in a giving mode only.

Agree. You see he is actually one of them who don't like a strong armed forces in Bangladesh. Well we had some dirty intellectuals in Bangladesh who used to say this. It sometimes sounds sweet as it has a special slogan. And the slogan is, " people can't eat why spend money on buying armour, we are brave nation, we faught a freedom fight and the fighters were mostly civilians. If we were attacked by foreign power, then all will come to Street for patriotism, and will prevent them. There is not power over the power of common folks, bla bla bla...... . ".

However such people are either very naive common folks who actually want to prove themselves different from others and end up being screwed up in society, or they are the specific group of intellectuals ( we call them fifth columnist/uncle Tom) who serve the hidden agenda of another foreign power.

However for naive common folks, my message if Crimea is the latest example for who have allergies to armed forces. But if it's for the intellectuals, no message at all because the intellectuals understand it very well contrary to common folks. Actually they want hiltrech ctg to be separated from Bangladesh ( same as Crimea was separated from Ukraine) , but they just use the coat of humanity.

You can compare open enemy and hidden enemy with the famous words of Bible.

Wolves and lamb coated wolves. God clearly said that lamb coated wolves are more ferocious than wolves.

Is it because I lack wisdom and knowledge to understand his points?
Only he can answer this. We just can wait and observe. Let's see what's coming next. Any messages from naive common citizens who lack knowledge and wisdom , or some critical response from an intellectual.

Is it because I lack wisdom and knowledge to understand his points?

All I get from you are branding and generalization. Personal attacks etc. Rahem koro vai. I don't know what you mean by intellectual or neo-intellectual. Even though literal meaning is good you guys probably use it for certain type of people.

Only he can answer this. We just can wait and observe. Let's see what's coming next. Any messages from naive common citizens who lack knowledge and wisdom , or some critical response from an intellectual.

@bluesky.

Ooof where do I even begin with this. So much straw man analogy. So much vilification. Fifth column. CIA, RAW ,ISI , Mossad agent, Khawariz, traitor, doesn't love national security, dirty dirty intellectual, seperatist. wants ctg gone! them bad we good. They have agenda etc etc. Yada yada bla bla.

No where did I say that I don't like strong armed forces of Bangladesh. I just want equally strong paramilitary in Bangladesh citizens. So that they can help the army in times of crisis. And balance the power of a armed class so that the army and police being stronger than it's un armed citizens don't become animals and oppress it's own people. And most importantly no holier than thou mentality. You are elite you don't care what I say even though know I speak truth.

For a normal citizen I just think they should be skeptical of everyone and not trust anyone blindly. If a politician says trust me. People should be twice as suspicious of him.

Bangladesh army has poor equipment and we can't produce much military equipment at all. This is because of the all is well mentality that we have. At least in Pakistan I see some effort in making home grown technology.

We are giving them equipment slowly . We are a nation of 170 millions hard working peoples , and we can make us better than the others in this region . We were just misguided . We were scattered sheep , that desperately need good shepherds . A pure, patriot educated Military can give us back up from behind , and exactly they are giving so I believe .

look at 1996 15 February election . How long BNP survived ? Now look at 2014 the same style election . AL is still surviving . Why ? Common belief is India is making them survive . My answer is just LOL to them who think so .

But yes there are still problems in Bangladesh . But all will be solved slowly . Rome was not built in a day !
