Bangladesh may acquire 10 Russian Yak-130s

. .
it was a joke man, bangladesh is getting some f 7.

You guys should move to Gripens or something man. Gripens are pretty classy considering they're cutting edge, have a decent combat radius and cost effective. An NG variant that was offered to us, would suit you really well. Now since I don't know the MRCA parameters, I am assuming that the reason why Gripen didn't make it were three:

- Tejas Mk2 having sam capabilities in coming days.
- Himalayan altitudes.
- Desert trials.

While Bangladesh has no problems like this with an almost uniform terrain. Swiss, Thais, South Africans, Czechs and Hungarians use them apart from Swedish forces who topped US aces in Red Flag.

I'd suggest a squadron of next gen Gripens with YAK-130 trainers would be best for BAF. :)

^^Why BD needs a twin engine fighter?

My question exactly. It would really escalate their operating costs through the roof. Even PAF with nearly 3-4 times their defense budget focuses on single engine jets.

Having limited geography, territory and budget, single engine modern jets make the best bang for buck. I recommended Gripens here.

India has a strong presence in Moscow so BD can buy all sorts of russian aircraft and never worry about sanctions.
We got your back guys :)

Get Su-35BM jets for BAF

That price can get us a Rafale

please highlight advantages of SU35 over SU30...... Algeria operated su30 now they are under negotiation for su35

It's the very best Flanker out there :D

Just look at its loadout:

But then, extreme long range missiles have limitations.

It can house a better PESA radar, along with superb combat range, superb aerodynamic capabilities and great electronic warfare suites.

I know, I'm dreaming :smitten:

O my god, we should certainly go for Su-35 BM Inshallah.

The amount of money money spent on the fuel of the su35 birds will drain our military budget.

We must either go for f16s or jas39. Single engined aircraft

The Gripen has one other asset that is often overlooked: very attractive lifetime operational costs. Each new generation of fighters has proven to be more expensive than its predecessors to operate and maintain, and this is one aspect of the procurement spiral that forces smaller aircraft orders with each new generation of equipment. The JAS-39 was designed from the outset to counter this trend, and lifetime operating costs were given a high priority when making design and equipment decisions

BAF has been operating twin-engined fighters for a decade now. So, what is it exactly that you want to know?

If you want to know where our threat lies, the answer is both India and Myanmar; since we are not allied to any of these nations. In case of any war, it is better to be prepared than be sorry later; Afterall, we don't have any Guardian Angel.

In addition; my personal vote is for single engined fighters; but the military top-brass probably wants to counter the Burmese procurement of 20 new Mig-29s. That probably works on their mind.

They should go for Gripen NG/F-16 blk 60. I know it is a challenge, but life itself is a challenge
