Bangladesh is an important development partner of South Korea which they strongly believe can accomplish similar economic progress and development, said South Korean Ambassador to Dhaka Ahn Seong-doo.
He said digital Bangladesh will pave the way for achieving the status of middle-income country by 2021, and developed one by 2041 with Korea's unremitting support for ICT development.
Both countries will march together to mutual prosperity, he said, adding that Bangladesh's remarkable economic growth rate is the clear indication that Bangladesh can achieve its development goals.
Korea is looking forward to further enhancing and intensifying bilateral ties with Bangladesh, he added.
The ambassador was addressing the National Day reception in the capital on Thursday night.
At the event, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed urged the Korean investors to invest more in Bangladesh, especially in economic zone.
He laid emphasis on more economic cooperation to enhance trade volume between the two countries. "Our trade volume will be increased and two countries will move forward together," said Tofail.
